Guys I am dying. I finally decide what I wanted and the sales guy at Koons is dragging his feet getting me the order to sign. I am sure he had a day off is busy etc. I am just so excited to finally get my order in. I am on day 2 of radio silence.

Send AnthonyRI at Mark Dodge your build info and he will send you a real deal no hassle price. They will order your Jeep and ship it to you for a very reasonable price. I am in your area and I bought my Rubicon X from them last month and had it shipped. Trying to find an honest dealer that will give you a real price including all the fees in our area is damn near impossible. My purchase from Mark Dodge was by far the easiest I've ever made.

Koons in Virginia is going to charge you at least an additional $1000 processing fee and probably freight on top of whatever they quote you.

i have been up front with koons I will give them the 995 fee but if they add freight after it is already listed on invoice I am out. the paper work on the manual before I switched to auto did not have it. I will send mark dodge a note to see what they say. they were great when i was ram shopping but my local dealer had got within 500 and then it was not worth pissing around.

I think those VA dealers on in stock vehicles do the freight trick on the way they advertise not on orders. If they do Id reject it.

What gives you the impression that they'll probably charge freight?

Koons got back to me and so did mark dodge. Mark dodge was $500 more and I would have to pay $1000 shipping. Koons is just under 3 hours from me and I have a trailer so no issue getting it.

I am going to get my order in with Koons tomorrow as long as there are no surprises.

Most dealers in this area MD/VA show discounts on sticker price that includes freight and then add freight back to the discounted price. In Maryland dealers are also allowed to add an $800 processing we and I've never seen one waive it. I don't know what the rules are in Virginia, but I haven't seen a processing fee below $995 and lots of places charge more, always on top of the "best" price.

They were upfront about their 995 processing fee. Initial costing shows no added freight. It does make their 8.5% under invoice about 7%. Still beating my local dealer by a good bit. I will have to drive 3 hours to get it but I can handle that.

I do know what you are talking about. When I was truck shopping I looked at a few in that area online and when I called they were like oh plus freight and tint and wi dow etching etc. I was like thanks but no thanks.

I’ve talked to two guys on here who bought from Koons and said it was the easiest car buying they’ve ever done so I am comfortable.

I was replying to replying to Ratbert's question. I have no doubt you're aware of the shenanigans.

I signed the configuration sheet and told them to call for CC deposit. Hopefully order goes in today. Thank you everyone very very much for your help this week.

I thought of ordering from out of State but was getting some run around, so I went to my local dealer with a price after I did some homework and ordered it thru them.
They are 5 miles from my house and I like the idea that I purchased from a local guy.

I am still waiting on buyers order to verify there are no shenanigans. I talked to two guys on here who bought from Koons and said no tricks. They just had to get inspection done when they got home. Which is fine I can go pay $50 for the inspection tax.

I debated going local cause if you have an issue you bought it there vs you did not and it goes to end of line. Koons is 3
Hours from me so if something major happens I’ll toss it on my trailer and take it there.

my local dealers best omg we are losing our ass on this deal idk why we would even offer this price was $3500 more. I am going to try this to save that.

I always prefer the local guy. However by me man the dealers mainly like to sell to people they can rope into bad deals. They do not seem to like educated consumers.

If you unfortunately have a issue with the Jeep instead of dropping it off and having some family or friend drive you back home, you’re stuck 3 hours away. Sometimes peace of mind is a mental savings and not a money one.
‘Dealers are shifty but I’d rather have to deal with a local guy than someone 6 hours back n forth away.

To each their own. 500-800 more ok but more than that all dealers are the same to me. Maybe this experience will change my mind maybe it will not.

There is a new CJDR dealership going up 5 miles from me so short term everyone will have bought theirs somewhere else.

I've only heard of one person being treated differently due to buying their rig elsewhere. It happened once during COVID, so it's not unheard of, but it's incredibly rare. As far as I'm aware of, at least.

I've also never heard of anyone being screwed over by Koons.

You or someone you've heard of has experienced that with Koons? Many, many people here have bought from Koons without unexpected charges.

I would immediately update the spreadsheet if that was occurring.

Thanks I am not worried I got the buyers order from Koons and it matches what we talked about. I think I am good to go I am just waiting for them to call get cc deposit and put in my order.
