2.0 turbo has better power and performance than the 3.6. Only complaint about it; it's loud especially at start up.

Painted fenders is personal choice. FOr me it dpends upon color. My granite crystal has color match hard top and fenders which I like. If she was certain other colors I wouldn't. Protective film on rear fender leading edge and door hinges help.

Every other option is ymmv. Blind spot monitoring is next to useless. Adaptive cruise is a good system much better than my '20 Accord.

As for Willys vs Rubicon, right now I say I would end up with a Willys just cause its a way better value but I would probably end up in a Rubicon again.

If I go 6 cyl manual i can get a rubicon x with the painted fenders. I was set to order that and then started thinking about the wife driving it at times.

As it is with 2.0 auto I have to go plain rubicon and add stuff. The Rubicon X when you add auto forces the big tires. While i love them it makes getting in and out a bit much. It also passes what I want to spend. the 2.0/auto combo adds 2500 msrp so I have to drop into the regular rubicon. I could always add painted flares later on if I hate the black ones.

Man I have thought of this but 4 door looks like a bus to me. they drive ok but I am not daily driving this it will be a toy. the 4 door just is not for me.
I miss my 2 door. It works just fine with kids. But buy a couple of the folding seat cables, those handles love to break. Fortunately it's a pretty easy DIY repair.

My 2 Door Rubicon 2.0 was built the Friday after Thanksgiving 2022 and so far other than a missing bolt in the steering stabilizer and the gasket between the windshield frame and the body just not there its been rock solid.
Note that those are just the missing parts that you've already discovered. It's like Easter when you're trying to find the remainder!

You'll remember that decision "fondly" when those kids are wanting to go camping.

We ordered a 2022 JLUR XR and a 2024 JLUR X—both ended up costing about the same out the door. They’re similarly equipped with 4.56 gears and 35” tires, which is the sweet spot for us. The 2024 has around $5K in additional upgrades compared to the 2022, mostly because when we ordered the 2022, Jeep inventory was scarce. By 2024, the market had cooled significantly, and dealers were eager to deal. Today, you’ll find most dealerships have dozens of Wranglers on the lot, so it’s much easier to negotiate a solid deal.

If I were ordering today, I’d still go with the fully loaded JLUR X. You’ll get an excellent value—especially if you shop from Ratbert’s list—and everything you need is already installed and covered under the factory warranty.

Side note: I’ve never purchased a factory warranty on any other vehicle, but we did for both of our Wranglers. If you shop around, you can find great deals on full bumper-to-bumper warranties. Ours are both covered for 8 years.

We live in Florida, so it’s lots of beach time and very little (if any) rock crawling.

My advice: Order the Jeep the way you want it and just drive the hell out of it. I’m an old software developer—my wrenching skills are “meh” at best, and I’d rather not spend my limited free time under the hood. I paid cash, spent the money up front, and now we just enjoy our Rubicons—whether it’s cruising the beach, running around the farm, or road-tripping to my wife’s marathon events on the weekends.

Good luck with your order!

Thanks I have my final specs with the turbo 2.0 and automatic into Brian at Koons. I am just waiting for his build so I can sign it and place the order.

I agree on the warranty. I looked at granger and they have 8 years 85k for like 1400 with a 100 deductible. I’ll get that once mine comes. I am getting excited and hope to wrap up my order this week.

Well nothing important has fallen off in over 2 years so I think Im in the clear at this point. Also if there is something else missing it clearly wasnt something I needed.

Just curious, have you looked at similar builds on the lot? Might save you some time and money. Especially if you find a 24.

Yeah Ive looked high low far and wide best deal for me is to order from Koons in Va. I have cc ready for deposit just waiting for guy to email me. Sucks I just want to be done. I appreciate everyone’s help and advice though!

The only 24 I had found was on the other side of the country and they quoted me 2300 to ship it.
