Looking for some advice from the community.

My Jeep has been at the dealer for service for 62 days as of today (Doug Smith in American Fork, UT). For almost all of that time, it has been parked in the side lot, windows down (plastic taped over them), doors unlocked, most of the main electrical system removed, EGR system removed, fueling system disassembled, grille wedged in place, and more. There are also new scratches on the front fender.

Every week I get either "waiting on a part," "got the wrong part," or "waiting on tech to finish other repairs." Sometimes a combination. The only updates I have gotten have been from me physically stopping in the service department and waiting around, pushing for anything. The @JeepCares case manager has only been able to get the same from them. But now I haven't heard from Jeep in 10 days either.

Jeep claims I am out of lemon-law protection, but even so, ordering replacement would cost 10-15% more, and many options are still not available.

Do I leave negative reviews (earned) of the dealer online with photos of how they've left my Jeep? Will that cause them to sit on my Jeep even longer? Do I wait it out and just hope I have a Jeep by New Years? Do I do more than a weekly stop by the dealership and civilly ask for updates?

Any advice, opinions, or personal experience will be appreciated.

What was the reason it went in to begin with? Mileage? Warranty still?

So why is it in there? Accident? I can understand the long wait for parts, it's a thing now. I personally wouldn't burn any bridges YET. I wouldn't flame them online yet. If you can, talk to the general manager or owner of the Jeep dealer. Your car on their lot is a liability and they probably don't like cars just hanging around for months in the service lot.

I honestly don't know how I'd handle that situation. I mean first of all, the way it's being left there is completely ridiculous. It looks like something that's sitting in a junk yard lot. Complete lack of respect from them. While I get that there are supply chain issues and whatnot, there are right and wrong ways to handle things. Waiting on parts is out of their control. Leaving it disassembled outside for 2 months is not. If it were mine, I would probably do whatever I had to do to get it back in one piece first before deciding on anything else.

I'm not sure what I'd do in your situation. I'd be calling every few days asking for an update. I would definitely give them the benefit of a doubt though on the parts delay. My company is seeing as many as 6-8 weeks on a lot of our components right now. Really slows down making parts.

This is a tough one.

Sometimes leaving a negative online review gets them off their asses. But I don’t think I’d do that while I’m still fully reliant on their good graces to get the job done.

Why does Jeep think you are out of lemon law? Due to mileage?

Do you still have warranty left?

Why is it there?

Check with your state for lemon law info, not Jeep. It's not in their best interest to give you good info.

I remember seeing a post about this a few days ago, by the same OP, and if i remember correctly it was initially something to do with the EGR but turned into more things.

OP, feel free to correct me. And to answer your question, I'd be speaking to an attorney on their opinion. You've lost use of your vehicle for over two months *yet you're still required to make payments and to insure it* with no end in sight.

Attorney consult. The fee to talk to one will yield great info, best money I’ve spent in the past because it cuts through BS and gives you the real laws that apply (not the internet’s opinion). Also, they will do expectation management. Some laws are toothless and were only passed to appease voting groups. An attorney will straighten you out and get you on a productive path.

Until the OP tells us why the Jeep is there, it’s hard to help.

Why are the windows all rolled down? Why does the grill look like it’s bashed in? Can insurance get involved?
He has an entire thread on why its there.
