Install update? Pics?
@Air Uncle P

So no off roading yet. It's a week night. I started at about 5:30, 5:45 so almost dark already. I am in Jacksonville FL. Right now at my brother in-laws house and my nephew came over and helped out.

We did one at a time and did not take any of the tires off. Not hard at all, nephew did the top bolt on each one and I did the bottom bolts.

Three out of the four stock Rubicon shocks were leaking. As I stated before I feel the Rubicon shocks are ok, might even be pushing it to say they are good. They are for sure not great shocks, although they might be better than the other shocks jeep uses on a plan sport etc. I was noticing much softer feel on larger bumps, holes etc. Lines on the road were pretty abrupt. And the jeep wasn't tracking good, felt like is was wondering more.

After install we went about ten miles to pick up some dinner. I noticed a difference before I got out of the long dirt driveway. Steering is tighter. Lines on the road you barley notice. The biggest difference is the jeep tracks much, much better. There is a lot less steering wheel input. Plus it just feels all together tighter.

In MHO it is a huge noticable difference. So far very, very nice.

I wii report back when I can get off road. Some night shots. Didn't put the roost on yet, tomorrow morning.

Update

These shocks are much,much better than the stock Rubicon shocks.

Went down a well maintained FSR last night in the rain and mud, in the dark not aired down. Jennings State Forest to be exact. I say well maintained but it was not without routed out areas, holes, etc.

The stock shocks would jar your insides and kidney's out. Even new, and aired down.

Went with my brother in-law and little cousin. I am not kidding there was a couple times it didn't seem like we were on a bumpy road it was such a smooth improvement.

Also I know shocks aren't what gives you lift. But out of curiosity I measured before install of the new shocks and after install. I gained a 1/2" at all four corners.

I am chocking this up to the old shocks being so bad that they were squatting low.

Also just to clarify. As some of you might remember we are in a RV. When we we're in tombstone the jeep didn't seem too bad. I knew the shocks were on there last leg. We loaded up at the end of January and went 2000 plus miles to Jacksonville. I never unhooked the jeep one time, just one night in a place and gone the next day.

Point is I believe it was that last 2K plus of flat towing that did in the Rubi shocks.
