I just put a 2.5 rough country spacer lift with shocks on my 2021 JL Sahara and the look is good, tire clearance is there (285/75r18) but can’t get it to align and it drives like crap at high speed and Pulls to the right slightly. Rough Country is allowing me to return my kit so I’m trying to decide on the proper lift. Want to stay at 2.5 inches.

Rough country recommended there 2.5 spring lift with rc adjustable control arms and a front rc Adjustable track bar and either their adjustable rear track bar or a bracket from somewhere ( they don’t have a rear bracket for the track bar) for a 2.5 inch lift.

any thoughts on this ?

total parts would be about $800 or so plus install.

Waste of money, or a decent set up?

Not planing on heavy wheeling mostly a mall queen for my wife, just need it to drive decent and align properly. Occasionally wheeling at best.

What do you mean by you "can't get it to align"?

they were not able to get it to stop pulling to the right. Were concerned the axle wasn’t aligned properly and the floating at speed was from insufficient caster.

4 degrees is pretty awful for caster. You can do that RC lift if that is what you are set on. You said that it includes adjustable control arms and trackbar, so you should be much better off after setup properly. RC stuff is known for poor quality, so buyer beware there. But other options would cost you more.

I wouldn't go through the effort to remove the RC spacers just to put RC springs and the same shocks back on it.

You can add the LCAs and track bars to your existing installation.

the only reason I was considering it was they were going to let me return it and exchange so why not do springs too if I was going with more then a the cheapest option. Not sure if this is a good idea or not? This is My first go around with 4x4 stuff so not familiar with brands like rough country other than the shop that did it is an installer for rough country.

Is the shop doing the swap for free?

Nope, $300 to install the first one adding $750 more for the 2nd one.
The spring may have a slightly heavier spring rate, but I don't see significant positive impact on your complaints.

The LCAs will get your caster adjustable. Track bars will allow centering of the axles.

I agree, springs just make it more of a real lift I suppose. Not sure if it’s relevant

In general, rough country parts IMHO aren’t “top quality,” but they work fine for what they are. I wouldn’t do a whole rough country suspension setup myself, but I do have their adjustable lower control arms (LCAs) installed, and they’ve been good so far, about there years in now.

Regarding steering and alignment, get them to set your castor to at least 6 degrees. 4 degrees is way too low for Jeeps, especially after a lift. A lot of Jeeps come stock at around 4+ degrees, but this is too low to begin with. It’ll help straighten you out. 👍
