My wife has a 2023 JLU Sport S, 2.0, stock.

She wants this thing to look how it makes her feel… tough!

For our anniversary I am planning on getting her take offs and a lift, 2.5” max, for garage clearance.

So I am looking for advice on the best 2.5” lift, that will offer great on road manners and just enough off road manners, for when we take it down low grade country trails.

I would love to get a complete kit, since in past Jeeps we have had wobble issues.

Budget about 3k, any advice is greatly appreciated!

Also, if anyone can recommend someone/shop that for installing a lift, in the Atlanta to Birmingham area.

Thanks you all help!

Are you measuring and coming up with 2.5" max for clearance? Almost every 2.5" spring lift will give you at least an inch more than that.

Also, what takeoffs? Rubi or XR?

This is a Clayton 2.5” Overland kit, 5100 Bilstein shocks and 35” Cooper SST tires on my Sahara. I now have a Jeep that handles EXCELLENT on and off road. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this kit. I’m 64 years old and installed it myself in my driveway…took it to my local off road shop and had an alignment done and had them go over the lift, checking for torque values. Definitely in your budget.

Does anyone know about BDS coils? I have a wrangler sport s unlimited 22’ How do they handle?(I want a tightened up more firm set up and I have good shocks to pair them up with) are they based off the rubicon or regular wrangler trims?

What's the max tire height you're looking to install? If you're planning to go to 33's, then Rubicon take-off springs/shocks will be all you need. Here's my wife's on 285/70 KO2s with Rubicon springs, parked next to a stock Sport. Note the difference in height at the mirrors.

If you want 35's, then you'll probably want an aftermarket lift; just know the advertised height of lift is based off a Rubicon. In other words, a 2.5" lift will probably net at least 3.5" on a Sport. If you have a garage height limitation, I'd measure some lifted JL's first before pulling the trigger on anything.

Hey there! If you have any specific questions about anything in particular, always happy to help out! Basically to keep it short, the most important thing is making sure you address the most critical aspects of the suspension, and then also taking into consideration what your goals are.

For a daily driver, bigger tires, light off-roading, you don't have to go crazy, and this is typically where we recommend something like our Ride Right kit: Front upper control arms, front and rear track bars, springs, and end links.

If you're a little more serious and want the best on and off-road performance, our Overland Plus or Premium kits are the way to go, as you are addressing geometry all around, as well as replacing stock bushings with something a lot more capable!

Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions about anything in particular, always happy to help!

It would help to know your garage door height limitation before recommending a lift size. If you’ve got a standard 7-foot door, a 3.5" lift with 37s will fit without any issues.

For mostly on road driving, get the smallest lift needed to achieve the "tough" look you want. Also consider your preferred tire size so you get the desired look. Many posters like 35's on 2.5 lift, 37's on 3.5 lift. If sticking to a 33" inch tire, a 1.5 lift will be more than enough bc it will probably net you 2.5 inches. May want to consider a 1" spacer lift for 33's to help keep the cost reasonable?

For reference, I’m running a Clayton 3.5" lift with Fox 2.0 shocks, 37" Baja Boss tires, and 20" Fuel wheels on my ’21 Sahara 4xe. My total height is around 76 inches with the soft top — the hard top sits about an inch lower.

I’ll admit I’m partial to Clayton since that’s what I’m running, but I can honestly say the drivability and on-road manners are excellent. I’ve called their support team a few times with random setup questions, and they’ve always been super helpful.

It seems like you have a sport there so you can always just go Rubicon take offs and get almost 2" of lift from that alone. Any lift you see online when they say "2.5" of lift" its from stock Rubicon height so you would get anywhere from 3-5" of lift out of a 2.5" lift from your stock sport height.

Your best bet is some Rubi take offs and some Bilstein 5100s and call it a day and save yourself some money.
