Hi everybody, I need some experienced advice and I hope you can help me.
First things first here's my lovely wife and her 2020 JLU 2.0 shortly after purchasing that I believe she's going to name Atigirl (because we drove it up to the Atigun Pass in AK north of the Arctic Circle and then back down to Phoenix right after purchasing). It's the Bikini Pearl color because if you can't tell my wife is obsessed with teal!
Here's a pic from AK on the pass: (Very dirty- the Dalton highway is mostly dirt and mud)
We travel frequently; this Jeep has been all over the US multiple times. We've kept it stock because of the excellent gas mileage it delivers in addition to the stock off-road capability.
We are finally settling down a little back here in AZ and want to install a take-off lift to get somewhere in the range of 2-3in. Our objective is to fit 35-inch tires, this will stay as our daily driver, while also frequently taking it off-road. The type of wheeling we do is mainly overland, but we are still adventurous and disconnect the sway bar and flex out when required. We have pushed "trail-rated" to its fullest and often surprise other off-roaders we meet on trails.
Knowing that here are a few options that I've been considering based on my local FB marketplace offerings:
First up here's the list posting: "2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JLU coil springs. Like new with only 1500 miles on them. Came off a 4-door rubicon with a hard top
and 2.0T engine. Numbers are in the pictures.
These are cheap and the engine is the same so they might be the best fit. I'd have to buy shocks for them but for $60 and low milage...
Option 2: Set of OEM Springs and shocks from 2022 Jeep JL Rubicon with Diesel motor. These were taken off with less than 500 miles. Asking $125 for all of it!
I like this because it's the full package, low miles, plug-and-play. It's also pretty much in my neighborhood. I'm worried that the diesel weight might make the ride way too stiff. We only have added the stock rock rails so if it's just my wife in there I don't want her to bounce around too uncomfortably when driving. Is this really a concern though?
Option 3: 21 Rubicon Xtreme recon suspension this will lift your sport Sara 2 1/2 “ and will raise your Rubicon 1 1/2” without shocks $300 with the shocks $750
I contacted the seller about these and he's offered the entire suspension sans shocks for $250. They came off his 21 JLUR XR running a V6 with 5000 miles on it. He's also got a post separately listing the shocks only for $500. Is the XR package worth it? What do you think would be a good offer for both? Skip the shocks?
Okay, that's it. I want to hear your opinion and give it to me straight. If you need more info let me know. Thanks, everyone I really appreciate it!
***EDIT: I know I don't need the control arms. Just want your opinion on what you think the better options are for the Springs/shocks
