New member and first post. Ive just picked up a new JL sport with 3.6 , 6 speed and stock D44 rear. I almost cant stand to drive it in stock
form and want to do a minor build. I need some input on suspension kits for the 2 door. Most of what you see is on 4 doors it seems and
I know the ride and ride height will be different for a 2 door soft top.

Im looking at anywhere from 2 to 2.5" of lift and im considering 33 to 34" tires. Leaning towards the 285/75/17 on some bronze method 701's.
I was considering 33's as well. I like the tall skinnier tire look of the 285/75 vs the more round wider wheel look.

I need help picking a lift kit. I was first suggested the Teraflex 2.5 but I am reading mixed reviews mostly saying it rides too rough. This isnt
going to be a woods only jeep so I want the combination of road manners and offroad capability. Really a 2" lift is enough for the 34's. I
want a high quality setup that will last a long time vs. going cheap.

Ive owned several older Jeeps but this is my first new one. Hoping it grows on me.

I know some might say "use the search bar" and I have been for days.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Might look into the Rubicon suspension swap, works well for 33s, I have slightly taller 295/70/17s and they work well. You can often find the parts in the classifieds here for $150 give or take.
Here's my thread on the swap along w/ the longer Mopar LCAs that keep your steering (caster) proper for high speed road manners. You could always add a set of Fox Shocks for even more performance

HA. Thats exactly what I planned and a local shop pushed me away from it saying "its junk" while telling me I should do a 1.5 spacer lift for 500 dollars haha.

Well, they want to keep their lights on :)
From your first post it seems like the Rubi swap would check all your boxes, and like I mentioned, if in the future you need a bit stouter setup some Fox shocks would fit the bill.

Here is a before and after of my 2 door Sport with the a Rubicon takeoff suspension. I picked up the suspension for $125 and installed it myself. it netted me about 2 1/4" lift.

Looks killer man. I wanted the orange and I should have been patient and ordered it.

What are your spring numbers? thats the main headache when considering the stock rubi swap. All the springs are different and net different results. most of the pics are with 4 doors as well which doesnt tell me much. The last 2 numbers like 60/61 or 90/91 etc. is what im talking about.

I have zero regrets with my Sport on Rubi suspension and 33s. It's essentially a risk-free upgrade and lift. I won't feel bad if (when) I swap to something bigger since it was so cheap and the install was relatively low effort.

An additional thing I want to mention, since you have the 6 speed: The stock Sport gearing is going to suck a little bit. With 33s (285/70/17) it's totally liveable, but when I have my tent on the roof and a little headwind I'm basically flooring it in 4th or maybe 5th to maintain 65. Of course this would be even worse with a taller tire. A regear is currently my top priority. But If you don't go bigger than 33, keep your weight down, and don't put a huge tent and rack on top you'll be fine!

Thanks dude! I've been looking for confirmation on which Rubi springs would be good with my 2 door soft top. Coincidently im able to buy a set of the 60/61 90/91's with 100 miles on them for 200 bucks tomorrow right next to where im working. Meant to be i guess haha.
