Does anyone have any experience or ideas on a good air compressor/ pump? Since the last few I had just broke after a few uses where the first one melted itself and the second one I just had have the connection from the motor to the piston break inside of it. I am trying to find one that has a rechargeable battery and can handle filling up to 60 psi regularly since the old pumps I had were rated for 120 psi and couldn’t handle 60 psi. If possible I would like to not spend more the $200. Thanks
if you go to the Viair website, they have tire sizes listed next to the compressors. With a 35", they show you need to go to one of the 400 series compressors. They also have charts with amperage draw vs psi for each compressor. My 440P draws around 40 amps at 30 psi. Probably too much for that trailer connector circuit.

Just a passing comment on the Amazon chinese compressors. There are some videos out there of putting better cables and clamps on the compressors which often come with inadequate cable s and clamps(the off brands, not Viair). One video for a 10 cfm dual piston compressor changes out all the electrical stuff and modifies the air intake for more volume.

Thanks, any load concerns with fuses or wiring?
As ling as you don’t lengthen anything, no. The Jeep wiring is meant to support that load and the compressor wiring is too.

400P automatic maxes at 30A, much more manageable. I personally have been running one for 3 years using the 7-pin. Granted, I don’t air up 4 39’s that way, but I’ll air up smaller tires or use that compressor for 1 39 at a time while servicing them.

Tire pressure for stock tires are inside your door. There are online converters to adapt to other tires. I have the exact tires you do and the answer is 35 psi.

What compressor( s) do you own?
My Viair compressor has worked fine for years without issues. It does connect to the battery for power. Rechargeable battery-powered compressors will not provide as much output and its battery has a limited life and may die without notice. I see little advantage to a battery-powered compressor
+1 on Viair. Mines got a lot of use and works great. Bought one for the motorhome as well. Also,I’ve not ran your tires, but I can’t imagine riding in a Jeep with tires that firm. My285 KO2’s will bounce the fillings out of your teeth at 40?

Holy Bead Pop, Batman! 50 psi? At most with 35s you'd want to run about 28 to 30 PSI. Do a chalk test!

OP likes his 50 psi guys. The rough ride keeps the coffee stirred up real nice.

There was a air compressor getting a lot of buzz a while back, check it out
I bought one of the similar dual piston compressors from Alibaba recently. Need to do at least the electrical mods those videos show. The cables and clamps just flat look like they'll fry.

I have a Viair compressor (not sure which model) and it works great. I didn’t want to use the alligator clips so i ran a heavy gauge wire to the rear cargo area. I was installing the RV trailer tow wiring harness at the same time so I had already removed the trim and molding from front to rear. Near the existing power outlet in the rear, I mounted a female Attwood trolling motor receptacle for a boat that i got on Amazon. It has 8ga wires. I then put the matching male plug on the compressor. Worked so well that i ended up putting the same Attwood receptacle on both sides of my RV to make it easier to inflate those tires.

Amazing that I got to Page 3 before someone mentioned the chalk test. @Tyler88 watch a couple of YouTube videos on it, super easy to do to identify the proper PSI for your rig/tires.

As for compressor, highly recommend the VIAIR as well ( Amazon.com: VIAIR 400P/40043 Portable Compressor, Tire Inflator Kit, Offroad Air Compressor For Truck, Jeep, SUV, And Car Tires, Portable Air Pump Kit, Car Accessories, For Up to 35" Tires, 150 PSI/2.30 CFM : Viair: Tools & Home Improvement )

Slightly over your $200 budget but well worth it. I also prefer portable as I can toss it in my wife's car if needed (or any other vehicle). You definitely want one that clips directly to the battery as opposed to using a 12v (cigarette lighter) plug.

If you're going to be airing up/down a lot, I'd also highly, highly recommend budgeting/saving up for a Speedflate system. I got one recently and it's just so nice to air up/down vs going tire by tire.

There is no one answer for a given time. It all depends on how much weight you have on them. And, of course, what you're doing.

YES!! “Thors Lightning“. We have used ours many times even in 16 degree weax. They are veteran owned and stand by their gear.
