Does anyone have any experience or ideas on a good air compressor/ pump? Since the last few I had just broke after a few uses where the first one melted itself and the second one I just had have the connection from the motor to the piston break inside of it. I am trying to find one that has a rechargeable battery and can handle filling up to 60 psi regularly since the old pumps I had were rated for 120 psi and couldn’t handle 60 psi. If possible I would like to not spend more the $200. Thanks

What are you filling?
35 in Nitto Ridge Grapplers but I daily drive on them so I run them around 50 psi even though the cold pressure is extremely high as said on the tire (80 psi) but I run around the 50 since other people I have seen run it at those

What compressor( s) do you own?
My Viair compressor has worked fine for years without issues. It does connect to the battery for power. Rechargeable battery-powered compressors will not provide as much output and its battery has a limited life and may die without notice. I see little advantage to a battery-powered compressor

80 psi is F load max pressure.

You should be running mid-high 30s assuming you have 35x12.50R20 to match factory loading.

The more pressure, the more load on the compressor. Most will indicate a duty cycle, you're likely running over that.

The first one was an Avid gun shaped air pump and the other was a CAT Jump pack/air pump from Costco, but yeah I will get an actual compressor not battery powered

I do a lot of highway driving, so I was trying to fill them up higher also, they’re 35x12.50R18

Do you have a 7-pin blade connector as part of the HD/tow group? If so you can wire almost any if the alligator clip compressors to run off your trailer hookup. I used a Viair auto for a year like that and still have it in my wife’s truck. It’s still running strong 3 years later.
As addressed, I believe you’re running way too high of a tire pressure. Bigger tire than stock should mean lower PSI than stock.

18s should be closer to 30 psi.

You'll be wearing the centers of the tire 50% over that, the RG's will take some miles with the right inflation.

As @LazyJL recommended, a Viair will last you a long time treated correctly. They'll have several options in that category, get one with aligator clips instead of a cigarette lighter plug.

I didn’t know that but I do have the HD/Tow group so I will have to look into that

OK I will look at Viair, thank you. I didn’t really notice it since I had to get rid of my last set of tires due to dry rot of them being old.

+1 for Viair, think I have 88P? Has the alligator clips. I’m sure onboard air is great but the Viair is <$100 and I can use it in any vehicle (throw it in my wife’s SUV or my sports car for long trips).

To give you an example of duty cycle, here's the specs on the Viair 300P which is right in your budget.
Jeep Wrangler JL Need a new air pump/air compressor they keep breaking 1705356110086

You can use it for 30 minutes continuous at 30 psi in decent temps, but if you start cranking up the PSI, it gets closer to 20 mins on, 40 min cool down.

You should have no problem airing up all four tires into the 30s in less than the 30 minute max.

I know many swear by the portable air compressors but adding on board air to my Jeep was one of the best mods I ever did. Might be worth looking into.

That being said, I agree with @GATORB8 that 50psi seems super high.
I was looking at that, but I don’t really want to try to install that myself and also it’s kind of expensive since I’ve been to a few installation places around me for random simple Like running boards and bumpers just since I didn’t have the time to do it myself and every time there’s a problem so I really don’t want to count on other people to do it or pay for it if I can try to do it myself
