there is no such thing as a "must do" mod. Your rig will be just fine off the lot and probably take you to the majority of places you want to go to off road. Make mods that you want not just because someone said you should.

Congratulations on the new Jeep. A Jeep is one of the only vehicles you can buy for $50-60K and up, get it home and add $20-30K to it and have what you dreamed of. Good Luck! I waited about 40 years for mine.

I don't know, but of all the mods, I think the dead pedal is the only MUST DO.

I also say, put the screen protector on right away. The screens on these things scratch so easy and once you get scratches they don't just clean up. Even wiping them down with the wrong cloth can cause scratches. Floor mats and seat covers are great but you can usually clean the seats and carpets easily, not so with scratches on the screen.

A Sahara doesn’t “need” anything for daily driving, or for most casual, weekend offroad driving. One quick, cheap idea though - buy a stubby radio antenna (many are available on Amazon for less than $30) and replace the long, whippy factory antenna. The factory antenna works perfectly, but it’s not great inside a car wash tunnel.
I deleted mine all together and placed a new Trail Rated badge over the hole. I still get fairly good reception without the antenna but don't need it as I don't listen to AM/FM much at all.

Agree with the screen protector but I'd second it with a good phone mount. I've tried a couple and absolutely love the Bullet Point mounting solutions system.. Well worth it, great phone, goPro and GMRS mount.

- Screen Protector
- Phone mount
- Entry protectors
- Locking gas cap

Off Road:
- Rock sliders
- Mud Flaps

Definitely a Hi Lift mounted on the hood of a stock Sahara. You can't use it to jack anything up but it's a sweet decoration.

Angry grill shadowed only by a dual LED lightbar you can use to help errant planes land at night if required.

Ducks. Of all shapes and sizes so if you need to emergency brake, they will fly all over the Jeep.

Get a can of matte black high temp manifold paint, sandpaper the muffler, paint it. That thing is so hideous back there, black it out blends right in beautifully. First thing I did on the 3 Jeeps I've had so far, cost $5 and 10 min max...re-scuff and reapply as needed...

I was going to suggest you spray the undercarriage with Fluid Film or Surface Shield but I see you’re in Tampa. Still may not be bad idea if there is salt in the air.

Other than that, I also recommend a screen protector ASAP as others have mentioned.

I have sky onetouch, so I don’t think I require this mod
@Arupghosh
It is for the Doors also! Great cheap little tool kit to remove the door hinge bolts. Very convenient to keep in the glove box or in the rear floor storage area.

LOL, I figured most would just see "Hard Top" and not the next word "Door"

The vast majority of my "mods" have been adding convenience items (storage bags, bins, trays, phone holder, hood struts, etc.) or making a few aesthetic changes (stubby antenna). My bigger ticket changes have been in preparation for warmer weather (tube doors and tonneau cover). I like the way the stock wheels and suspension ride and drive thus far, so no plans to change them... at least until it's time for new tires.

None of my mods were "necessary" in any way. As others have suggested, just drive it for a while, take a look at some build threads around here and you'll get some ideas of changes you'd like to make.
