This might be a stupid question but what is a dead pedal???
It's a "pedal" that doesn't function, usually located to the far left of the driver's footwell. Most vehicles have some sort of "pad" or block or something over there. It's where you would rest your left foot while your right foot is manipulating the pedals. Less common on manual transmission, since you have the clutch pedal.

What's with all the screen protector zealots? What on earth are you guys doing in your Jeeps to need a screen protector?
All three Uconnects currently available for the Wrangler have touchscreens.

While the Uconnect 3 also has analog buttons and knobs, the head units with the 7" and 8.4" screens do not. This compels the constant use of the touchscreens as a consequence of their design, in order to access any and all of the head units' functionality.

Screen protectors are thus recommended with the same frequency, and importance, as the one that should already be on your smartphone.

Here are a few things I did on my 21 JT and then on my 22 JLURD.
Touchscreen protector
Hood Shocks (always hated the hood prop)
Bulletpoint mounts
Visor clips (avoid it breaking later)
Dorr sill protectors
all weather mats

As far as modifications go, depeding on your off road experience if you intend on that, wait 6 months or so. Figure out what type of trails/terrain you enjoy once you get significant seat time. This will let you know what route of modifications you'll want or need. What you may think the 1st month or so, may not be what you enjoy 6 months from now. And give it time to really learn what your jeep is capable of before adding what I call "crutches".

Also get familiar with modifying parts, as many are just another piece of the complex puzzle, may require other mods, or surface another weak point on the rig.

A hitch.
And if you don't have the tow package, get a basic hitch receiver and hitch. 15 mins to install (wiring harness for ligjting is another story). Gives the bumper a little more protection til u go steel. And no doubt you'll need to tow something eventually.

There are only a couple things that I consider a "must do". Seat covers, because I want to keep my seats protected, Floor liners because I want to protect my carpets, a screen protector for the radio face because if it gets messed up you're screwed, and a stubby antenna because I don't like the huge one that comes with the Jeep. Those are personal preferences and the Jeep won't break if I don't do them. Everything else, just like others said, is based on what you don't like about factory components and your intended use of your Jeep.
Seat covers to keep the seats protected always strike me as odd. Why try to protect a seat that you will never see because it lives up under a cover? It’s kinda like not having sex with your girl friend to keep her fresh for he next guy…

Edit: I do see the value in seat covers if your are slipping them on for an offroad excursion and taking the back off to reveal your spot free seats for the ride to work.

Google will point to a lot of videos of idiots telling you "must do" things or don't do this till you've wasted your time watching my video, ignore all of them. How tall are you? I would say seat jackers are a must if you're over 6', it makes the ride much nicer. Outside of that, they are pretty nice off the lot.
Yes, yes, yes… front seat jackers if your leg inseam is over 30”.

Agree with the screen protector but I'd second it with a good phone mount. I've tried a couple and absolutely love the Bullet Point mounting solutions system.. Well worth it, great phone, goPro and GMRS mount.

- Screen Protector
- Phone mount
- Entry protectors
- Locking gas cap

Off Road:
- Rock sliders
- Mud Flaps
Yes to screen protector, phone mount (ProClip) and front seat jackers.
