Friend of mine took me for a few rides in her SxS to high desert BLM trails
which we are surrounded with for miles on end and I got hooked.
So I bought me white 2025 Wrangler 2 dr sport last month for my 70 birthday.
So far I got 650 miles on it and pretty much all of it is off-road.

I still got a 2015 2 door Golf which has a great mileage for Hwy use.

Here's my wish list for 2026 I can afford with my limited budget.

@jurko Those shocks are only for lifted Jeeps iirc, some Fox or Bilstein for 0-1.5" lift are direct bolt on and get more travel without need for bumpstops that kill that extra travel.

I would pass on both those tires you mentioned, Firestone are total garbage IME, BFG not much better especially these days with so many newer options.

Enjoy your new Jeep, those rock rails are around for like $25 that I've seen, rocking them on my Willys. :)

Didn't realize you were a fellow Nevadan until I saw your photo! I also have a 2-door Sport and it does very well in the desert, even in stock configuration. Adding the Antirock swaybar just makes it easier to enjoy a more comfortable ride.

Also important to note that the standard RokBlokz flaps work perfectly, and you might only want the XL size if you plan on installing wider tires and/or wheel spacers. In any case, I hope to see you out on the trails and happy Jeepin'!

Oh I see.
Yeah, I am new to Jeep and off-roading stuff and not quite sure what to get. That's why I joined this site and spending quite a bit off time on here every day reading.
So I should get Bilstein or Fox shocks and can use them with existing coil spring?
What A/T tires would you recommend in 255/75 R17?

Where did you see those rock rails for $25?
Those Barricade Rubi Rails I posted go for $272.

Hi fellow Nevadan. I am in Dayton and will be going to my first Komstock Krawlerz 4WDC
meeting in November. And yes it does well as it is so far.
Thanks for the advice on RokBlokz flaps 👍

Cool, glad you're here with us!
Bilstein are digressive damping, Fox are progressive do a search and read to see what you prefer, I'm leaning towards progressive damping for mine. Yes use them with stock springs as long as buy the 0-1.5" lift Fox or Bilsteins.
Shock tuning info, good reading but I'm just going with Fox 2.0 or Bilstein 5100 non-reservoir nothing fancy, but that's available:

Here and Craigslist stock factory rock rails for free or cheap is what i've seen, I don't do Fakebook.

BTW, TireRack has a warehouse about 30 min from where I live, and if I drive there to pick them up I'll get $40 off from total price.
I am going to check Craigslist for rock rails.

All I did so far on my Jeep is to remove back seat to make room for my Cane Corso and did muffler delete with AFE SS exhaust. I like the sound and it is more engaging to drive.

I measured the distance from the ground to rear and front fender and the front was 3/4" lower. Should I use spacer in the front or don't bother?

Thanks for all your help

+1 for tazer, first thing I did was change all my lights to leds
I replaced halogen bulbs with LasFit LED on my golf after I bought it 2015 and it made a huge difference. I plan to do it on my Jeep also.

Sounds good, but I'd skip spacers and leave the front, removing rear seat is weight off the rear and rear generally sits slightly higher already for load bearing.

Would love to hear what your favorite and must do mods are for someone that is new to the Jeep world!

Spending a lot of time in the forums and I'm probably missing some things. Anything from performance, comfort, and aesthetic upgrades

List of mods I've done so far
Tint
Weathertech floor mats
Stubby antenna
Bigger wheels/tires
Phone mount
Grab handles
Gas tank cap
LED headlights
Tail lights
Rock sliders with step
Dead pedal

In cart and ordering soon
Mid width aluminum front bumper (haven't decided on brand)
