Seems interesting. Anyone knows what service kit this is?There is a
special service kit for this type of repair which should be used instead of replacing the complete engine/long
block. Camshaft kit number(s) 68661147AB (Right Intake) and/or 68661146AA (Left Intake). These kits contain
the parts required for the repair (intake cam, rocker arms, sealer and gaskets).
Best of luck with the repair and please keep us posted on how it all turns out. Did your engine actually throw a code or is it just the rough idling and ticking? How many miles do you have on the engine?Perfect! Thanks for sharing. I was just going to look this up. I’m literally on my way to drop my jeep off at the dealership for this exact issue! The part was on nationwide back order and it finally came in.
I was just about to ask this. I also have some additional questions:Since we're on this topic, are TSBs beyond warranty/mileage limits done free of charge? I suspect not, but just wanted to see what folks are experiencing out in the wild.
1. The TSB does not specifically state or deny that. Ticking could have multiple sources. The TSB refers to valvetrain noise as a potential symptom, not exclusive symptom.I was just about to ask this. I also have some additional questions:
1. If I understand correctly, Stellantis has identified the root cause of the infamous 3.6l ticking issue and has issued a TSB?
2. It sounds like the parts have been either redesigned or the manufacturing has changed to prevent the issue from occurring again after the parts have been replaced?
3. It sounds like this issue should NOT affect vehicles built after August 2024?
No, your build date is on the decal on the drivers door jamb.So is the circled 0814 on my window sticker the build date? Don’t see the info on the build sheet. If so, it looks like made the cut by one day. No issues yet. Just wondering.![]()
So the door jamb says 8-24 and the tsb splits the month on 8/15/24. Any way to nail down to the day? Tried build sheet, vin decoder etc.No, your build date is on the decal on the drivers door jamb.
