They're out there, kinetic recovery ropes. Love 'em or hate 'em I'm getting one, but which one? Made in China, made in the USA, made in Bubba's backyard, $65, $220, red, yellow, black, or grey, too much research. I'm looking for 25 honest straight forward replys that are simply the name of the rope you own and/or use. I want to compile the results to see which manufacturer is the most popular... Thanks!

Yakum rope has never let me down, a little pricey but you pay for quality.

Yankum Rope 7/8" - 20'

Now that the simple answer is out of the way here is the reason why:

Yet to order one, but have used a Matt's off road recovery rope. Which is a Yankum rope but yellow. I have watched an absurd amount of Matt's offroad recovery and he uses Yankum products. I am sure he gets a sweet deal but it is a professional recovery company and it's works for him.
I am sure a cheap china one would be fine for personal use but I prefer to support an American company and have seen some ridiculous things done with Yankum ropes.

All those products are just marked up double braid nylon ropes that are used to tie off boats...you could make your own from Samson rope.

Yankum Ropes. Made in the USA and I've seen them work over, and over, and over, and over on Matt's offroad.

My much cheaper Rhino USA kinetic rope is doing just fine, probably a couple dozen or so uses on it by now over the past 2 years. I have a 20ft, will be getting the 30ft here shortly. Are others better? Probably.

Purely for amusement, I actually looked up Samson ropes, since I’d never heard of them. Then I looked all around my garage, and it turns out I don’t actually own a tugboat after all. So I don’t need any 2” rope that can pull 693,000 lbs.

Still, I was intrigued to see the phrase “minimum bend diameter” in that table. We don’t generally consider that factor here in Jeep-land. Maybe we should?
