I have 24 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X. Does anyone know what is the spring rate for the JL Rubicon extreme recon springs?

Not sure the exact number, but overall - softer than your average forum user. Shit's pillowy.

FWIW: the XR's weight increase is mostly unsprung.
Thanks! My Jeep is sagging and sitting 2 1/4 inches lower in the back due to my overloading setup.

I tried the air lift 1000 with no luck. After thinking about it I decided this would not be a good solution if I get a bigger air bag as my thinking is that it essentially stops the spring from doing its job and puts additional stress on other components. Although it seems like there are a lot of people who like this solution. So I may be completely wrong since I am a newbie to Jeeps.

I currently have a daystar 3/4 inch spacer which did raise it 3/4 inches. And I just got the OME heavy load springs (225 lbs/in linear springs). On OME website the lift kit that has these springs (I am only getting the springs) states:
  • Due to differences in OE ride height, the kit will net 3.5 in for non Rubicon models and 2.5 in for Rubicon model.
I have a 24 Rubicon X which is same as extreme recon with 35 inch tires. The rubicon extreme recon sits basically a 1.5 inches over Rubicon based on what I have read on forum. So I am assuming it will be additonal 1 inches for extreme-recon models. I am hoping these spring with higher spring rate, along with the 3/4 inch daystar spacer and the extra 1 inches (I am guessing at) will bring it back to stock with the additional weight on my Jeep. Again, I am just newbie so I have no idea if I am on the right path as this is my first Jeep. Any advice is much appreciated. I am finding that lifting Jeep is liking getting old. You get one prescription, then another one the counteract the next one and so on.... I am not sure if I need to invest in shocks, UCA, LCA or anything else as a result.

I did take my measurements of my stock springs in case it is useful for your spreadsheet. By the way it is awesome, that's a lot great information. Thanks for sharing that with everyone on the other post I saw.

Here is the info from my OEM springs:

15 3/4 inches for passenger side rear OEM Springs (Rubicon X, 25 inch tires), OEM part # 6854 0224AA

15 1/2 inches for driver side rear OEM Springs (Rubicon X, 25 inch tires), OEM part # 6854 0223AA

I resolved my overweight problem with Clayton Springs and Accutune Elites DSC 2.5s on my 23 Wrangler Rubi Dr. I love the ride now.

Thanks! Did you have the extreme recon? How much were you sagging before? And if you don’t mind can you share the Soring info and the shock info?

I replaced the springs and shocks that came in the Mopar 2 1/2" Lift Kit. The shocks were the Fox 2.5 specifically for the Mopar Lift. I was about 2 inches lower in the rear with the Mopar Kit than the Clayton Springs and the Fox Elites.

I think the springs were the 3 1/2" Lift with the 180 pound front and the dual rate rear that max at 230 pounds. Clayton spec my springs for the ride height and shock travels and collaborated with Accutune Off-Road to match and tune with my special valved Fox 2.5 Elite Series External Reservoir Double Adjustable shocks, and to accommodate my trail weight. Also, I am running the adjustable Metalcloak Bars and Control Arms to recenter the axles and set the proper pinion angles.

If your shocks are not special valved and designed specifically for that spring rate and ride height, and your trail weight, it would be best to consult with Clayton and with a suspension specialist for the right shock to meet your needs or you won't be happy with the ride.

In order to make the change right for the vehicle to behave, you essentially need to do everything as a package or you'll wish that you didn't and you will have a handful of an unstable vehicle at speeds on the highway.
