Does anyone know what the spring rates are for the springs that are included in the Mopar 2 1/2" Lift Kit for the 23 Wrangler Rubi 2 Dr 3.6L eTorque Auto Tranny? The best guess I am able to get from a Dealer is they are the same rate as the factory springs that came off the line so the cushy street ride is not compromised and they can't even tell me what that rate is.

I need to find out what springs to upgrade to for a laden weight of 6,000 pounds.

Thanks for posting the information. I did attemp doing a search on the subject and was unsuccessful in locating anything related.

I made a few telephone calls to a couple of experts today and I visited the Off-Road shop I have been doing business with. I learned a few things today. Most of the waddling affect is caused by the shocks with the weight adding to the affect.

Also, it was said it's very likely that with things moving around and with the Lift, the caster may be changing and the fact that I don't have sufficient caster adding to the problem and I should change the upper control arms to achieve at least 6.5 degrees of caster.

He also said that I should install adjustable front and rear Track Bars to help keep the diffs centered.

In regards to the shocks, I was told that the 3.0s would be overkill and special valved 2.5s double adjustable reservoirs will definitely do the trick.

My 2020 JLUR had the waddles. I hadn't noticed, but when I gave a ride to someone who hadn't been in the Jeep before, they asked me was my car doing the dance or was the road that bad. :)

I found a new pair of stock shocks and put them on. The waddle went away. I've pushed and pulled on the old shocks. If one is bad, I can't tell which one it is.

About the Mopar lift kit - IMHO, The longer lower control arms add all the caster you need. There are literally thousands of Jeeps running this lift. It is a good kit. I agree about the track bars. The axles won't be much out of line with the stock bars, but I like to do things "right". Don't cheap out on the track bars. Good bushings = good service.

DAMN! Shocks are expensive! I've decided that I don't need fancy shocks. I don't do any speed work, and I plan not to get in the air. :) If I was going to buy a pair of aftermarket shocks, I'd buy Rancho 5000x shocks. FWIW, I've heard that Rancho is one of the suppliers of stock shocks. It's not funny that stock shocks often last the life of the vehicle and aftermarket shocks often need regular service.

Consider an axle-side rear track bar relocation (like this). It has the driving benifits as a stiffer rear swaybar without the downsides of higher spring rates or stiffer shocks.

I'm going to replace the factory trackbars with adjustable trackbars. I just measured the track and I am a tad shy of a 1/2" more in the front and over a 1/2" more in the rear. Also, I'm going with adjustable upper control arms in the front. I barely get 5 degrees of caster and I should have at least 6 1/2 degrees for stability while in motion. A static 5 degrees is not enough to compensate an articulating lifted vehicle on the highway in order to keep it from being a handful.

Unfortunately, the Fox 2.5 non-reservoir shocks are not valved for my laden weight. I'm going to go with the Fox Elites 2.5 Double Adjustable Reserviors with custom valving for the weight and the dual-rate springs that will accommodate my weight.

The right spring and shock package should never be underrated for a vehicle with the kind of weight I am carrying.

Well, I decided to go with the Accutune Elite Series 2.5 Double Adjustable with coilovers. I called Accutune this morning to place my order and I learned that Fox discontinued the 2.5 Elites with Double Adjustable Coilovers. However, I can get the 2.5 Elites without the adjusters in Coilovers.

We did discuss the possibility of using the King shocks but they are only a single adjuster coilovers.

For my application, I want the double adjusters so my only option with the Fox 2.5 Elite Double adjusters was go with the non-coilover shocks. However, I was still concerned of having the right springs for my weight.

Acctune said they can valve the shocks to take care of the weight I am carrying contingent upon my selection of the springs. I ended up with Clayton Springs because they provided the spring data I needed in order to select the correct springs that will work with the Accutune shocks. The other spring providers were reluctant to provide their spring rate data. Clayton also provide the critical data that Accutune needed in order to not only tune the shocks but for the correct fit for my ride height.

The shocks and springs are on order and should be here in about a week or so.

My Accutune custom valved Fox Elite Series 2.5 Double Adjustables arrived today, 3 days after I ordered the shocks. Now, that is what I call good customer service. Of course, only being no more than one-day away for shipping time helps too.

My Clayton Springs and Metalcloak Bars will be here Monday and my Jeep goes in the shop on Tuesday in plenty of time to make my next Jeep Trail Run to try everything out theTuesday of the following week.
