Jeeps are Getting Expensive

Sorry the truth hurts. Sounds like it’s a game not suited for you
Nah I broke my own rules when I bought my last Jeep, I said never over 50k my max but I went 52k for diesel and with them giving me 5k more than I paid for my 2020 it actually was 47k. Over 50000 for a Wrangler? 392 not an issue since the engine is just out of my income level. I could buy it but just can't too much.

Hmm..You want Jeep prices to tank just as you're about to purchase one.
Sounds self serving my friend.
Incomes need to increase to match inflation.
Have bought. Paid 60k after taxes for it. Used one wrong word.

So basically other-serving. Very selfless, my friend. ?

Incomes sure do need to increase to match inflation. But even that doesn’t do enough to bridge the gap. Jeep has been consistently raising prices well in excess of inflation. From what I can see online(so take with a grain of salt), 48%+ since 2018, and we’ve only had ~21% inflation over the same period.

But if I had purchased a similar Jeep in ‘12 (and added todays diesel engine price), and then ramped up (only) with inflation.. that still comes in about 10-12k cheaper than what I paid last December. Not strictly apples to apples, but close enough to appreciate the difference.

On the other side, bought our 2021 Rubicon JLU for $58,000, 28k miles and 3 years later sold it for $49,000. Just sold our 2018 Sport S 2 door for $27,000 and the original MSRP was $32k and change.

Just leased our 2024 Rubicon X 4Xe with a $76k + Jeep MSRP, made 2 payments and bought out the lease today for $59,352, initial cap cost was $60,800 with tax credits, dealer discounts, Tread Lightly, Jeep 1k coupon and 3k down.

Everything is over priced these days but Jeep’s depreciation percentage seems to be below the average out there.

Yeah. Wranglers have been best resale value for 15 years. Nothing changed but the price you paid.

4xe is a scam. They upped the price to steal the rebate, the German Transmission does most of the work. Same one that is still the same price add a few percentages more expensive today to Jeep Inc.

I tell you what if the 58 Land Cruiser is under 60k with Hybrid 326 peak horsepower and 465 torque. Yeah think so. Even though you have to buy new tires with any Toyota off road you ever buy. Just suck it up and get the 1500 bucks ready for pizza cutter KO2 or Falkens.

What’s the scam? Hauls ass and not that far behind the Hemi in HP. I do a good bit of freeway and worst mpg for a tank so far is 22.5 and if I do local only it goes towards 30mpg and the extra power is always there.

My 21’ had the German transmission but quite a bit slower.

That they up the price to steal the tax payers money

You do realize the 4xe magic is the transmission right? Since you don't maybe read up on what you own? Yes the 4xe is the worst MPG Jeep of all. All a scam right?

Take a 1000 mile trip the 2.0 or 3.6 will beat your MPG hands down without stopping to charge every 30 miles. The diesel will embarrass your 4xe on 1000 mile trip.

76k for a 4xe is damn scam. Period.

lol, I got $10,500 in rebates, 4% below invoice and $1000 for a Jeep coupon and the only Jeep that will beat me anywhere is a Hemi.

Beat you at what? Basic Economics? My Diesel will beat you every day. Your MPG is terrible if more than 100 miles. I will still be going at 28 MPG for days if I wish. Every person here on the forums agrees the 4xe is the worse for road trips.

76k for a jeep with tax payer rebate = 66k ... 16K more than a Wrangler is worth.

My diesel will beat you every day of the week.

Oh and 70k for the diesel Farout.... No

What was the diesel up charge when it was still available, 5k? Unless you buy a Prius who gives a sh*t about a few mpg. Pick a trip and a 4Xe will get there 1st unless a 392 is there.

I deleted all that because lets put it as simple, the 3.0 is FAR more efficient over a 1000 miles than the half ass 4xe or the 392. Both will kill more flowers than the 3.0 over a 1000 miles and will not even come close to being as cool as the 3.0 diesel. People are like "WOW Bro is that a Diesel?" No one gives a shit about another half ass PHEV.

I can't say that for the V8 which is the Ultimate Wrangler ever made, I would absolutely own one if I could. I am just a blue collar guy so I got the second best the 3.0.

The upcharge was wiped out with the heavy duty transmission. With the upgrade from the 2.0 3000?

Huh? My solar is paid for. That was last year and nothing to do with buying a car.

Is it or a tax break so someone else pays for it? You really don't understand the whole economics things?

Everything is free as long as a tax payer pays for it.

4xe is piece of shit as far as environment goes. A total turd, my diesel is 10x more efficient.

Well, ya got me beat then. You got both the EV and the home solar bribes— but I got my eye on the LC58 and if the “incentives” are still around in 27/28 with the announced solid state batteries , I just might catch up . ?
