I deleted all that because lets put it as simple, the 3.0 is FAR more efficient over a 1000 miles than the half ass 4xe or the 392. Both will kill more flowers than the 3.0 over a 1000 miles and will not even come close to being as cool as the 3.0 diesel. People are like "WOW Bro is that a Diesel?" No one gives a shit about another half ass PHEV.

I can't say that for the V8 which is the Ultimate Wrangler ever made, I would absolutely own one if I could. I am just a blue collar guy so I got the second best the 3.0.

The upcharge was wiped out with the heavy duty transmission. With the upgrade from the 2.0 3000?

All Jeeps suck at mpg vs the overall average. The 4Xe is my fifth Jeep and the best by far. Glad you like your diesel but the 4Xe performance is great and I still get 20+ mpg on a bad day.

Beat you at what? Basic Economics? My Diesel will beat you every day. Your MPG is terrible if more than 100 miles. I will still be going at 28 MPG for days if I wish. Every person here on the forums agrees the 4xe is the worse for road trips.

76k for a jeep with tax payer rebate = 66k ... 16K more than a Wrangler is worth.

My diesel will beat you every day of the week.

Oh and 70k for the diesel Farout.... No

Well, ya got me beat then. You got both the EV and the home solar bribes— but I got my eye on the LC58 and if the “incentives” are still around in 27/28 with the announced solid state batteries , I just might catch up . ?
I’m 67 brother, hope I’m around in 2028 ?

Is it or a tax break so someone else pays for it? You really don't understand the whole economics things?

Everything is free as long as a tax payer pays for it.

4xe is piece of shit as far as environment goes. A total turd, my diesel is 10x more efficient.
I pay the taxes I need to pay. Why would you not take advantage of “tax credits” when available?? You’d rather pay more taxes for diesel fuel vs gas (25% more give or take) ? Go for it

Of course you took advantage, as I freely admit I did. Fully acknowledging the “rebates”, “incentives”, “tax credits” are a bribe that by any other name wouldst smell the same. I took My Cut Of The Action . I have also admitted interest in a hybrid, yet have been incorrectly accused of Blind Hatred for EV’s. The Blind Hatred is for the market manipulation by all possible means including the bribes to push us into them. Had market forces been allowed to prevail EV transition would have taken longer, but with no attention paid other than what vehicle best suits your wants and needs… I apologize for not resisting and chiming in on Scott’s question. ? ….. Edit- Toyota will be providing the market forces with the announced upcoming 900mi range 10min charge battery…… The market manipulation was unnecessary . ?

Yes. Escalating prices is one of the problems.

Another key problem, which is less discussed, is that as Jeep raised prices, it diluted the value we receive for all that money we give them.

If Jeep had invested some of that extra money in giving us improved quality; greater off-road innovations, and/or better customer service, it might had been able to hold onto its share of buyers. But all it’s done with that excess cash is give it to investors and executives in the form of record profits, bonuses and dividends.

I, for one, grew tired of paying for all those fat salaries, profits and bonuses, while they left me to argue and fight endlessly with crappy dealers over every little thing.

They can shove it.

We got our 18 Sport in 2020 during Covid for 32k. Had 3600 miles on the OD. No Vehicle is without its issues, but been good to us, even with the clutch recalls. ( I'll just go aftermarket and not mess with the dealership for that ) and paint bubbling, but that was fixed. Jeep is paid off - no better feeling. Hard for me to go from a paid off vehicle to spending 50-60k on a Rubicon when I can probably get the sport to a rubicon level with less investment. 20-25k in aftermarket parts can go a long way.... now who wants to give me 20k - ha =)

Their just a little late to the party. Imports have been that way for a while. I had to get a top trim 4R in 05 to get a V8. The few “options” were on every one inventoried in the state. I had my choice of color, except my first one of course that none had. I would have had to special order to not get some electronics upgrade I likely never used and not get a sunroof that is synced down on neoprene to not leak and hasn’t been used in years or my #1 color instead of #2. End of options.
I had a similar experience with the Challenger. They did a limited run of SRT’s in the B5 Blue that I wanted. Every option came standard on the SRT, with the exception of manual/auto, sunroof, bigger stereo, and summer only tires.

I couldn’t order what I wanted because the production run was done. IIRC, 100 SRT’s were made, 47 manuals and 53 auto’s. I searched nationwide for a manual WITHOUT sunroof. There were 9 available. All the rest were fully loaded.

Times two on the B5 Blue— also a Plum Crazy fan. When Jeep does do a special actual Color it’s for a limited time too, not when you’re ready to purchase. ? Yep on SRT’s, ordered my GC to Not get a sunroof and get tow. I think the upgrade stereo was also an option…..‘Bout it. Oh yea— got the fancier wheels option too.

Those saying wrangler pricing is in line with other options in the market are delusional.
1997 tj msrp was 14400, 4Runner 24500.
this days, 4 runner starts at 40200 and you can barely get a hard top plus auto tranny in 2wrangler this days.
Look what 40, 45 and 50 can buy today.
so called nicer vehicles back then are cheaper than wrangler today. Do you remember last time when you could get a bmw all wheel drive for 39100 msrp with led lights, auto, heated seats for 500, and all other options priced much lower than similar ones in wrangler?

most new Tesla’s are cheaper than wrangler. Some German cars, suvs included. Japanese are all cheaper and better equipped.

new Tacoma and 4Runner will make stellantis scratch their heads. they will reduce msrp, an extreme move I know. Throwing led lights alone without reducing msrp will not help them move bare bones 40k wranglers.
