if I remember correctly. Or he was talking about the IROC Camaro and made a typo.
I read it as both the IIRC and JLUR both have better articulation than the Bronco. haha

This video shows a very good demonstration of both flexing. The JL does do a better job but its less than most would think.

What nobody is talking about is the fact that you can not re-gear the bronco. The front Dif has to be replaced as it to small to accept a bigger gear set. You will have to buy a whole new unit.

…………and at that point you might as well swap in a SFA so you don’t feel like the little brother that mom made your older brother take with him to hang with his friends……….

This thread reminds me of the dude in the gym who just flexes for himself in the mirror thinking that's the only measurement of being in shape.
That’s it entirely right, since articulation is one of the keys to trail safety and capability.

However, your post did remind me of this. Great show…

Here is a Bronco upper front arm.

You can see:

1) They are quite short. This makes getting more travel, without extreme angles, difficult.

2) They are quite minimal in size due to needing space for shock to go up the middle and clearance.

3) They do sort of resemble the picture Roky posted above ;)

Looks similar to the 4Runner UCA. Maybe a bit longer.

The Jeep in the last shot is a lifted Sahara.

A point that I haven’t seen discussed much is the fact that it is relatively easy —and affordable— to lift a solid axle; an IFS...not so much.
That is a very good point. I've had many vehicles with both solid and independent front ends and you are absolutely right, the solid axle is remarkably cheaper to lift.

As for articulation (the original post here), I think it is pretty evident to all that the average off-roader is served well by either a Bronco or Wrangler. At this point it isn't "capability" as much as what look and style you prefer in your vehicle. Should make for an interesting market in 3-5 years.

Good video showing what they are already offering for upgrades; but more importantly you can see it's pretty limited space to work with.

Also some nice video footage of suspension in operation.

Those cast lower rear arms are pretty sexy - we don't see the Jeep aftermarket doing such expensive castings.

Castings are always weaker than steel alternatives. The aftermarket (and now jeep themselves in the diesel, 392, xr packages) have upgraded our only weak casting when they upgrade the knuckles to steel. I'm trying to picture a part on a sfa that could be cast aside from the housing and I'd say both the currie and dynatrac offerings there are pretty sexy (and far beefier than a cast lower A arm).
