Old
Mopar beadlock capable - 17x8 , -3 ~4.4” bs
New
KMC - 17x9, -38 ~3.4” bs

Looks like my total difference is 1.38" out

That is a typo on the Mopar website. The beadlock capable wheels have exactly 5 inches of backspace. my brother ordered them last year and I specifically took the time to measure them before they mounted a tire on them.

But wait a minute….. you mean you had the Mopars and switched them for those wheels ?????? Damn, where’s my banghead emoji ?‍♂

What pressure are you running? Playing with it may help temporarily (up and down).

With the new steering and control arms, you'll have both toe and caster to play with to dial it in. I'd make sure you find an alignment shop that has experience with lifted vehicles and is willing to do some test drive adjustment.

The MC length recommendations got me really close to 6 degrees.

Stay the course man, the KMC is a great looking wheel, if it was 8 lug I’d take them off your hands if you’re dead set against them…..strictly a matter of preference, everyone has their own, but I like a deeper look to a wheel, obviously you liked the way they looked, or the price blinded you. But as long as you’re upgrading I’d stop worrying about it…

Wait for the steering components and get it aligned, should fix it up pretty well.

The wandering is the result of too low of a caster angle and/or tire pressures being too high.

Also, the 35's are exaggerating the heavier scrub radius. The taller the tire, the more it will offset the scrub radius. You might consider skipping 37's and looking at 38's or 39’s, although there are less tire options in those sizes. The 3.5" Metalcloak Gamechanger will likely net 4-4.5" of actual lift over a standard Rubicon.

For reference, here's my JLUR with chopped fenders back when it had the 3.5" Gamechanger and 38x13.5's wrapped around 17x9 KMC wheels with 4.53" backspace and -12mm offset...

What castor are you running? When I set up my JK I found a post that gave me measuring points for both axles alignment and suggested numbers/wheelbase etc.. Is there a page/post for the JL?

Not that I've seen.

We just make @Roky answer everyone's alignment questions.

But do you still have the Mopars or you sold them already?

Still have but my current plan would be to swap back to them if I cant mitigate the wandering in the meantime with either tire pressure / alignment.

I am doubting I can make much headway until I get my MC LIft / HD steering upgrades on which will be a few more weeks from now so as much as I hate to I will prob sell the KMCs and throw OEM back on and if I do buy another different set of rims go with 0 offset.

I'm running almost this with a wheel spacer. You don't need that much for a 37. I only added the spacer when I put the 40s on.

Well, to each his own (except for angry grills ?), but going from the Mopars to these is definitely not an upgrade given the added stress on front end components. Especially considering that the Mopars were plenty sufficient for 35s or 37s and look splendid imo.

Just remember if this is the worst problem you have you're lucky. Easy to swap wheels, a bit of money is nothing compared to issues involving human lives. I always try to keep Jeep issues in perspective. My personal vote is you upgrade to 44 inch tires though now ?
