It will probably have to get worse before it can get fixed, unfortunately. Have you ever let it continue cranking to see how long it will go? If it starts up the second time without smoking after a long crank, you probably aren't getting fuel.
That’s kinda what it sounds like. I’m gonna take it in and get a history started on it , even though I’m gonna get “we couldn’t replicate” diagnosis. At least it’ll be in the system, maybe get a break if out of warranty when it craps out.

Press the gear shifter forward toward the dashboard while pushing button and see
if it happens again. Old JK issue that took me many years, many jump starts, many batteries and many alternators to learn about. Rare on JLU’s but it’s a safety feature that tricks vehicle into thinking it’s not in park and won’t let it start. If shifter is not eventually adjusted its a very annoying occurrence.
Thanks Alex, I’ll give it a shot...nothing surprises me anymore, lol.

This isn’t as long of a shot as some would think. The “trans park discreet in” has caused issues in the JK, as mentioned.

I doubt this would cause it, however, the circled discreet is a requirement for the start sequence.

An inspection of the plugs may find a partially pushed pin, which could easily create an intermittent issue.

Where is the ASD relay on our jeeps? You might mess with it.

New thing....... I didn’t want to start a new thread, lol. I heard a clunk in the front end when I pulled into my back yard, there’s a little dip. After some hunting I found that my sway bar disconnect assembly has play in it.....I confirmed this by unbolting end link and it didn’t clunk, apparently my gremlin has moved ..lol.....
Now I’m gonna ask them about warranty, but I know how that’s gonna go. Has anyone been inside one of these, and is there a fix I can do, because they’re pretty proud of them at 1350.00 ish. I don’t really want to go with anti rock, I’m not 100 percent convinced they work as good on the highway.
Thanks, appreciatecha.

You might try a salvage yard?

If you are under the 36k warranty, you might give it a shot. It's definitely not normal. It isn't disconnected, is it?

Here is pretty good bargain on a 2021 with low miles. Maybe see if he meet you half way between AL and N FL :)

Sometimes when I start my JLUR the starter just turns over and doesn’t start, then I push the start button again and it will stop, then push it again Jeep will start......?...... only happens every so often, no pattern or reason. Anyone else have weird shit happening, but doesn’t warrant a trip to the dealer, which I avoid like the Covid.......?...... of course my apologies if already been asked and answered.

edit: ....... and yes... I pushed down all my fuses, and I have a catch can... so this kinda thing shouldn’t be happening...?
I am so sorry for dropping that Jelly on your Push Button Bro. You know how much Jelly I have spilled lately. ;)

Seen you temp fix on other thread :like: That noise makes me think the actuator is not fully engaging when reconnecting sway bar. That was kind of a common issue with the JKs when corrosion built up inside from leakage if I’m not mistaken.

Yep, that’s right, but I have no corrosion or rust going on, I’ll probably end up going up in it , but for now , I’m curious how long my fix will hold up ..... and I know your next question..... yes the zip ties are pulled to spec........?

No, when I disconnect there’s no noise. And if I leave it electronically connected but take off the link there’s no noise.

No. The next question is why not orange zip ties to match Fox and Reid Knuckles LOL. So you did separate and take a look internal?

Same problem started on my 21 a few weeks ago. 3.6 auto, right around 10k miles. Was able to get a video with audio of the displays when it happened once, engine light stsyed on throughout it. Will try to edit it so it can be uploaded...
