Sad, I make a financially frugal decision based on the necessities of life (visiting my sick father) and this is what I get...

I have 2023 2 door Rubicon which I truly enjoy. And now am faced with the prospect of trading it on the 2023 XR 392 Reign Rubicon which is waiting for me at the dealer. 30k to boot with trade. 2 door is paid for. I really do not want to take funds from the market as they are -30% in the last year. Loan would be 33k at 5.49% for 72 months, which is not an issue. FOMO has me thinking to buy the 392. Practicality and financial common sense does not allow both in the garage. So I ponder. The 2 door is just plain fun to drive. But the 392 calls my name as it maybe the last of a breed. What says the collective???

74! Get on with it! (as long as it doesn't rock the boat too hard at home) We're all looking for that next brass ring.
Please do it Sir! I recently lost my 90 year old father and he had to give up his beloved German RV a few years ago due to health issues. He lost his zest for life when he could no longer do the things he so loved to do. He would tell you to buy that 392 and have a blast while you are still able. My hubby traded his Ford Raptor in for a 392 and i wish i could capture his glee every time he goes off to work. He is close to retirement and was determined to get that 392 and enjoy it before he is no longer able to. If money is not the issue, bite the 4 door bullet and have fun!

Not for a CSX, no. But go with Superformance- brand new, Shelby licensed, price very comparable to a TRX. Or go with a professionally completed Factory Five ?.
Or have McClussky, in Torrance, build you one out of the AC Bristol parts he gets from England.

Looks like it's leaning about 2/3rds in favor of keeping what you have, which is a damn nice Jeep by the way. Keep the 2 door Jeep and get the Vette.

Maybe, also buy the 392 and run it through the auction. But since you don't need the money, why bother. There is someone else out there looking hard for one just like it. Pay it forward and let someone else have it.

Here is where I'm at: Drove the 392 briefly today. It is a decent vehicle. Not as nimble or raw as my 2 door, but sounds great, and rides well. I am going to tell the dealer, who I have done a ton of business with, is that I will buy the 392, using the 2 door as trade, but with the caveat that the 392 will most likely have a short tenure in my garage. I ordered the 392 and will be responsible for that decision by following through with the purchase. But, I do know my first choice given all the variables, I would drive the 2 door with more enjoyment than the 4 door 392. Just that simple. So guess I am taking the position of standing behind my order, but with the understanding the 392 will eventually be flipped. Maybe a crayfish move on my part, and if the dealer wants to make the profit, then he can do so. If he wants the deal to be consummated, then that's what will happen. I stand behind my word even if it is not fiscally beneficial to do so. Kind of old school in that way. Flame away.

Yes, had a 21 392 which I traded for a TRX. I will be ok which ever direction this heads. I have to have a conversation with the dealership, and determine where they are at before making any final decision.

The 392 will sell whether you buy it or not. If you will be happier with the 2 door, keep it.

From reading through the posts, it seems you are sort of all over the place with buying/selling vehicles and never really satisfied. For once, it seems you have one that you like, the 2 door. Time to break the cycle.

I was about to say go for it and then saw this. Keep the 2 door and give it some time and then pick up an additional car. 2 doors are like the 392 in that there’s nothing quite like driving them. Sure they may be a chore driving them when you just want to get from a to b as easily and comfortably as possible. But off-road or those days where you get a nice day with top down and no doors there’s nothing like it. My old two door jk was easily my most uncomfortable vehicle but also my favorite. I bet you’d end up going to a 2 door in a year or two if you traded it in now,

This is why you have to think about what you REALLY want. It honestly sounds like you don't even want the 392. You seem happy in the two door, but perhaps a little bored? That's why I think you should keep the two door when you want a nice topless cruise on those sunny days and then get yourself a sweet sports car for when you want to go full on Ricky Bobby.

Should you decide to do this, I highly recommend a 2005-06 Ford GT…..amazing car to drive, but you have to have a good skill set as it has no intrusive nannys.

Run the 2 dr until the motor blows , then do a 392 / hemi / corvette / swap !

Now that would be awesome !
