Yes, probably a few dozen threads already if you do a search. Everything from removing a plunger switch under the hood, to getting a programmer like the Tazer, to a complete Aux battery delete.

Rather than purchasing a part (TAZER), I was hoping a Jeep mechanic would have a simple fix; fuse removal, cut a wire, etc.

You can delete the Aux battery by removing a fuse and disconnecting the Aux from the main battery. @Rhinebeck01 do you have a favorite Aux battery delete post that you can recommend to the OP?

They're not going to disable it for you. And if you don't want to buy a FlashCal or the like, you're just going to have to settle for pushing the disable button when you start the Jeep.

Only real way to stop S/S (other then a failing battery) is to manually press the button or introduce a fault that prevents it from happening. A common solution is disconnecting the secondary hoodswitch under the hood as it's quick to do. This will cause a service S/S light on the dash, though.

Your only other solution is buying a 3rd party tool like the tazer to disable it

I installed a Smart Stop Start module. Plug and play into the stock harness underneath the dash near the steering column.

Works great, the ESS feature is off and I have no CEL.

I purchased the Autostop Eliminator harness, which creates a memory function for the non-ratcheting ESS dashboard button. It remembers if ESS was on or off when the vehicle is shut down, and reproduces this condition when the driver restarts the vehicle. Thus, the default ESS On condition from the factory is overridden.

I have one of these in all 3 of my vehicles that have the auto start-stop system. Love it!

Some/a few forum member's have reported that their remote start does still work after the plunger disco. Most though, report remote start does not work.. Why remote start works for some and not for other's .... who knows.. (undoubtedly related to vehicle config)

I know I could not deal with the Evic warning were I too disable ESS with the plunger disco.

I thought it would bother me but after a day or two i dont' even notice that little light. Once warranty is up I'll still be installing the auto start stop eliminator but the thought of having to crawl under there and unplug it everytime it goes to the dealer during warranty isn't appealing to me, so until then I'll probably just deal with the light.
