I have a 2.0. liter Etorque. Does this apply to my application?

Is there a TSB for this part? My 2020 JLUR runs at 240+ all the time. No help from the dealer. I ever asked if I could pay to have the fluid changed and was told if is lifetime and not serviced. Of course I told them that at these high temps “lifetime” would be here sooner than later. No help. No love.
Get your transmission up to temperature right before you bring it to the dealership and show them while it’s hot that the oil cooler lines at the cooler upfront are cold. And tell them it’s not right, they are supposed to be warm. That’s what I did and they accepted it.

Great. Thank you.
I just called them and was told there is no TSB but they would gladly install the new part for $150 plus labor.

The new part cost 90$ at the dealership I went to (I’m in Michigan) and if you are still in warranty it shouldn’t cost you anything. I didn’t pay for anything.

I bought the part online from MoparPartsGiant.com for about $65.

Since I live in southern California, and I don't think I'll ever be using my Jeep in the bitter cold and I'd like to reduce the heat input to the tranmission fluid, I decided I'd eliminate the heater with a bypass (not a block-off) plate. I started on it today. Spent a lot of time looking for things....looking for some aluminum plate, looking for drills, flycutter, tools, etc. But that's the realities of coming into someone else's shop to work on something.

Anyway, I squared up (milled a few sides flat) an old beat up greasy remnant of 6061 T6 I found at a salvage metal yard, transfer punched the hole pattern from the heater, drilled that pattern and cross drilled a 9/16" hole from one end, and threaded it for a 3/8" NPT plug. I didn't finish today before the shop closed, so I'll finish up next visit. Maybe tomorrow...

This evening, I borrowed some of my wife's artist tracing paper, cut a small patch and then taped up the face of the valve body where the O-rings go, with blue masking tape a few layers thick, then put assembled the plate on the valve body with the tracing paper between them and torqued it down. I took it out in the garage and found a 2x4 a couple feet long and beat on the plate a bit to get the tracing paper to transfer. The tape acted like a shim to push harder on the areas I wanted to transfer the tracing paper ink. I used a felt tip to more permanently mark the ports from the valve body. I'll mill out the pockets tomorrow down into the cross drilled hole. This will be the port that replicates the heater flow path. I'll probably machine it to make it more shaped to the valve body periphery to help lighten it. You'll see....it'll be "a thing of rare beauty" ;) .

BTW, those of you that wish to not have heating from the engine coolant, can simply disconnect the coolant lines from the heater and loop them back. I wanted to get it out of the way of the driveshaft as I'm getting an aftermarket front driveshaft.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
@roaniecowpony would you recommend just getting this new part and saving it for a rainy day if & when your AT temps start getting too high? I assume the older heater is problematic enough to warrant this newer unit. That $65 seems like a bargain, especially when you consider the old unit was in the $300+ range. I have a 2019 w/ extended warranty but still think this is something I should consider getting, thoughts???

Oh, and thanks for all your helpful posts, look forward to your finished DIY setup installed and the results that will follow.

I think Jeep/FCA/Stellantis has a policy of lowering the price of revision parts that fix chronic problems. I've seen it a number of times now. For $65, nobody is making money on that. I'm guessing it's a loss for these parts that fix problems. Steering boxes seem to have been the first parts that were lowered to help customers.

For $65, it's a gimme. As Lee Iacocca said "Get One".

Would you suggest just installing it right away or just hang on to it until there's a temp issue? Like I mentioned, mine has been fine thus far.

I'd say: "at your convenience". There's the "if it aint broke, don't fix it" camp. Then there's the: "what's the consequences of the failure?" camp. I'm in the latter. IF it results in possible damage when it fails, I'm for changing it pre-emptively. This one is borderline, IMO.

I have a '20 Recon with the 2.0 eTorque as well. Yes, it's the same part. MyMoparParts lists this as the correct part for our year/make/model/engine. I ordered it a couple days ago from MyMoparParts.com for $66.75 plus shipping (about $11). The original part is no longer available (even from sites that list the old part# as as the correct part), this is the replacement. You can probably have a transmission shop do it pretty cheap. I looked under there and it looks like a fairly simple job. I'll do it when I have some extra time. I'm not having any issues so I'm in no rush. I don't think I've ever seen it go much over 220 ever. I have a TrailDash 3 so I have trans temp as one of the on screen gauges all the time. I bought it to have on hand and for peace of mind. I'll change it out when I get around to it.

I asked the dealer to replace the cooler on my 2020 with the 2021 upgraded part. Even If I paid for the part they WONT DO IT. I showed them 3 pictures of the gauges on Off Road Pages. In 2 high, 4 high and 4 Low. All with the trans temp above 240 and the engine and water temps in the 180s. Won’t do it.
does anyone have a contact number with anyone at Jeep that can help me?
I was at the SEMA show and completely missed my opportunity. I had no idea this would be so difficult.

I'd recommend you buy the part (for $65 online) and either replace it yourself or pay an outside shop to replace it or try another dealer. A transmission shop you trust would be a good bet.

Try another dealership or test drive new a wrangler at the dealer that refuses to do the work and show them for comparison (that was my plan if they refused to do the work)..
When I went tech told me they have to way to troubleshoot the valve and no data on the operating range on the transmission so I had him come out and physically feel the cooler lines that were cold with temp at 240.

Might be worth trying a little different approach with a new dealer. Maybe start with "my transmission cooler doesn't seem to be working. It's cool to the touch when my gauge says the transmission is extremely hot. Shouldn't the cooler have hot fluid in it like the radiator?"
