I'm struggling with this, I thought over time I would get used to it but I'm not, it's just not you bro, besides IT'S A DIESEL!!!!!

It reminds me of George's toupee, Elaine hated that thing, ripped it off his head and threw it out the window.

I like it. It adds a little bit of color, a little bit of pop, it's not too showy, but it fits in well with the paint scheme I would say.

Mostly in my imagination I think it would be hilarious to have a 4XE, rolling coal. I sure do love my shock value humor. I think that's both shocking and funny. Though probably not ever going to happen, cuz to do that I'd have to break laws...

I do understand that that 4xe badge has a little bit of chrome in it, but honestly I'm not a big fan of Chrome at all.

That being said, I was poking around AliExpress earlier today looking at headlight/grill bezel cover piece thingies...

I got this really nice chrome paint, but I typically only use it as a base for my gold paint. I was for a minute, thinking about getting a set of these and spraying them chrome like six or eight layers, sanding them down and using a technique I've seen on YouTube to make them like full on Chrome shiny, so that I can blind on coming traffic extra good. But I couldn't find a good seller selling them for less than $10. All the ones going for like six bucks each, they had terrible reviews. Plus too, I really don't need them. Definitely would have been a waste of money. And something I probably would have put on, and then scrapped within a week anyways.

But yeah Chrome is not really my thing. It's a little too shall we, in all of the wrong ways.

That's not a bad one at all.

Part of the reason why I put the 4XE badge on the front driver side fender, was because the EcoDiesel badge I have in the back of the area is covered up by the license plate. Initially I was going to remove that badge and put the forexy there but since the EcoDiesel badge in the tailgate area is already covered up and not visible unless you're really looking for it hard, it kind of just fit in on the fender right over the other badging. ;)

I should note too, I'm not really huge fan of advertising what my engine is in the vehicle on the vehicle. That being said, I think the only time I would ever advertise that it's a diesel Wrangler, is if I ever find a way to do a inlaid cut out lettering on the hood I might write diesel on there at some point. But that project is so far away, that's one of those things I'll do when we have a house and I'm bored one summer, Start cutting into a cheap hood I buy from a scrap yard.

The factory badging is cool and all, but it's kind of nice people not knowing what's under the hood. I figure diesel fans will figure it out pretty quick, even with the quiet sound. I'd rather like the underdog mentality.

I recently performed a MAJOR fuel efficiency increase in regards to my Willys XR.

Went from those dastardly 35” BFG’s to some P265/70R17 Mastercraft Glacier MSR snow tires (31.6” OD).

Benefits include:
  • Less rotating mass
  • Better tracking
  • Lower replacement costs
  • Looks so fucking kool
  • Net axle ratio change from 4.56 to 4.96
  • Increase in odometer reading due to baloney skins
  • Did I mention it looks so Kool?
Before (not kool)

So basically you went back to OEM tire size the Willys comes with without the XR package. Not bad.

I don't remember them having having the XR package when I put in my factory order, let alone having it on a Willys.

It actually looks pretty nice honestly. I mean that's what I look at it every single day when I look at my Wrangler for the most part. You'll get used to the not so aggressive looking tires.

How long have you had your Willys XR? What kind of MPGs are you looking at right now?
