None of these methods are working for our JL. The Homelink indicator light never changes and flashes rapidly. It just stays flashing slowly until it finally goes off after 60 seconds or so.
Be sure you have a new battery in the garage door remote you are trying to pair to your JL's HomeLink. When you go to do the pairing with the one method, be sure your garage door remote is within 3 inches of the visor remote buttons.

There are two programming methods. You will find info on both methods in this thread You need to try both methods. One should work for you.

I also had to use the alternate Canadian method (even thought I am in NC). My garage door is from around 2000. I had to push a physical button on the garage door unit itself to pair it with the HomeLink.

Having the opener built into the visor is a nice touch, have two doors programmed to open off two separate buttons and our openers are fairly new with rolling codes so was pretty easy to setup.

Are you only performing the steps for the new garage door openers with a rolling code? That was my mistake. If this is what you are doing perform the steps for non rolling and then the "extra" steps for the rolling type.

I tried both methods and I can't get through the first part. The homelink light never flashes quickly. The remotes I am using(I tried 2) are ones that I had bought that have three buttons and I had to program them. No issues with doing that. They are not the ones that came with the garage door. It does not work anymore. I'm starting to wonder if that is my issue.

x2. Same here. House built in 2006 and probably original garage opener.

I have the exact same LiftMaster remote. I programmed my HomeLink using it.

What method did you use? Any tricks? I've been having no luck. :headbang:
I had no clue in regard to my 6 year old LiftMaster garage door openers (2). I first tried the method where you climb the ladder and push the button on the door opener and that did not work. I tried 3 times. Then I used the other method. I followed directions on this video. I did two different garage door openers. No, no tricks. Had remote about 2 inches from HomeLink during the process. I had JL in RUN !

I'm going to give it another go when I get home tonight.
Did you ever get yours to work? I am having a heck of a time with this. I've tried all methods that I can find, including the Canadian method, and I can never get the home link light to flash rapidly when trying to train the visor button. It does go solid, and the above video suggests that it might be ok, but still can't get it to work. Tried the learn button on the opener to get the rolling codes. I've replaced the battery, tried using an unprogrammed button on the remote, tried intellicode 1 and 2, and still no dice.

When I press the programmed visor button, I can see the light blink on the garage door opener which I assume is an RX indicator, so it appears to be receiving a signal from the Jeep. No door action though...

I have a Genie opener that was purchased new about 4-5 years ago. Never had a problem with our other cars, but the Jeep just won't work and it's driving me nuts... :headbang:

Feeling pretty stupid at this point since I have tried no less than 20 times.

I must be stupid too since I can't get this to work either with our Craftsman garage door opener.

Where did you find that info? I like the idea, but the manual (found online) on page 157 says "NOTE?: HomeLink is disabled when the Vehicle Security Alarm is active".

Thinking about a scenario where the roof is down and the Jeep is locked/alarmed via the fob. It would be possible to lean over an unlock the doors (and the alarm?) then use the HomeLink buttons to open the garage..?
trial and error for me, got in the Jeep, but did not start and tried to close garage door... the button only works if vehicle is on (ACC/Run, etc)

It works awesome, once you program it. I pulled the online manual up on the UConnect and after several on attempted, they linked and it works perfectly. Actually better than the remote I had (better range).

I programmed my Home Link and it worked fine however after reprogramming the other 2 cars the Home Link stopped working in the Jeep. The garage door opener has a rolling code. Any ideas?

I just recommend only programming the garage door buttons if you park in the garage. Far too often they are used to break into homes when parking outside.
That's true if someone car jacks you and drives to your home after hitting the HOME button on the GPS. None of my other cars with Homelink garage doors openers had power until the car was powered up. I am pretty sure the visor garage door buttons are not powered until you start or press the start button. I would also recommend NOT programing in your actual home address into the GPS. I would program a destination a few blocks away from your actual home.
