Can you mute the audio when back inside?Just put the wife on the hood. You get audio feedback that way too.
There is some cool stuff out there like a gesture controlled 360 view on the BMWI really wanted a Trailcam when shopping for my 4xe - almost a must-have. Thankfully the one I found came with one.
When considering a front bumper, bull bar and winch mount I was super conscious of not blocking the camera, limiting my choices.
After running on the trail and using the camera, if I had to do it again, I could take it or leave it.
That being said, I do continue to use it, I just wish it gave me more. I'm a car hauler and loaded a C7 Corvette Grand Sport on my trailer this week. The multiple front cameras were awesome for running up the ramps. They've got top-down and cameras above each tire, though I sure wanted to see under the car too!
I'm dreaming of a multi-channel camera system for dashcam, street, and trail purposes.
Ha, got you beat, I don't drive at night. I hate paying for them but it's worth it to get the front camera.I didn't get the LED package. I don't wheel at night and the halogen lights are plenty good for freeway driving in the city where everything is lighted.
Just crank up the Alpine. Can you mute the audio when back inside?
I guess if you don't need decent lights you don't need decent lights. I can't imagine not having LEDs where I live (fortunately quite a distance from suburbia and city life).I didn't get the LED package. Winch and LP4 lights mounted on bumper. I deleted my bull bar to maximize the cam view…Took some pics after installing my new RC diff skid.
The nearest I can see with my bumper is 16", the short bull bar obscures at 39".
I've got a 20" light bar coming that I'm planning on mounting under that bar. That's certainly going to obscure the closer view even more.
Have you considered the Front Trail Cam Relocation Kit?Took some pics after installing my new RC diff skid.

I ordered a bumper without a bull bar. Same questionWinch and LP4 lights mounted on bumper. I deleted my bull bar to maximize the cam view…
Does that work with non-AEV bumpers? The description implies that it doesn't:Have you considered the Front Trail Cam Relocation Kit?

This kit will move your trail cam from the middle of the grille to the center hoop of the AEV front bumper.
Does that work with non-AEV bumpers? The description implies that it doesn't:
I disagree with that, it's designed to work with their bumper. No it only works with their bumper which I don't have.
hah no not really. although to be honest... I'm not sure the stock location is the best placement for the camera to begin with. The AEV relocation kit puts the camera in a good spot but you have to have their bumper.
Using the info from @BDinTX I moved my front trail cam to my skid since the view was mostly blocked by the bumper hoop. This also let me install the Bolt hood lock. I used parts from the American Adventure Labs camera housing and some 2 inch wide aluminum flat stock to piece together a protective housing. Not as good of a solution as his delrin housing but it works. One photo is from the rear of the skid looking toward the bumper to show the camera housing.
About $180 for just the relocation kit. Still $$$ but I’m sure it wouldn’t be terribly difficult to get it working on other bumpers. Heck, maybe there’s already a 3d printed option. I haven’t checked
