When things settle down, hybrids will be the near-term winner (aka 4xe). You have electric for short runs around town (where folks want smog reduction) but you can still drive across the country stopping for a quick refuel of gasoline.

On both the 392 and 4xe, there's enough torque to twist the splines out of the Dana rear axle. To avoid this, the 392 is always in 4HA and the torque is reduced on the 4xe unless it's in 4HA in 1st and 2nd gear. Sucks if you wanna do burnouts.
Bad coil pack. Easy fix. Instead of sending a rental on a flatbed and picking up your Jeep, I'd send a mechanic with a new part, but that wouldn't fit in the bureaucracy we've created in this litigious society. It's like a 10 minute fix in the driveway.
There is a fuseable link in the OEM winch wire. I highly recommend an isolator, fuse or circuit breaker at the battery connection of the winch. Unintended welding might ensue otherwise.
It IS contamination but from inside the axle. These gears shed more chips and slivers than past units. I'm thinking is a new wear-in design that will result in longer gear life, but it's putting conductive matter into the gear oil which makes its way into the locker sensor. Not sure why Dana and...
