Agreed, that does suck. Since I never need it, I decided to ditch the rear seat and go full platform. It takes quite a bit more work than with other wranglers, but it is an option for some.
The General forum is a great place to give folks a little ribbing. This is a thread about a specific technical topic, and I do really enjoy learning and figuring out technical details.
I am a Jeeper first, and literally all the work I do to my Jeep and wheeling I do with it have nothing to do...
Nope, but they sure do increase off-road usefulness, which is my point. We all bolt on and carry a lot of extra weight in our Jeeps to enjoy our vehicle's awesome capabilities.
Hey, we don't mind slinging a little mud around with the guys. But it gets really fricking annoying when literally any and every topic we post gets slammed on by 4xe haters, who take over the thread.
Gosh, I guess your experience driving in inclement conditions trumps mine.
40,000 miles. Alaska. 100 mile daily commute. 37's on stock 4.10 gears. I climb hills at the speed limit without slowing down, passing most other traffic that does.
It's a HYBRID vehicle - the battery is a reservoir that is charged during deceleration and discharged through acceleration in normal driving. It operates like this at all times, without plugging in. There are millions of these vehicles on the road. In addition to this normal hybrid behavior, the...
I certainly don't agree at all. With the battery at "0" it drives as least as well any other Wrangler. The indicator showing "0" doesn't mean there is no juice in the battery, it just means it's not going to let you drive full speed EV on the highway. Still can glide around parking lots and...
As you're apparently in IT, this debate is pretty much Mac vs. PC or iPhone vs. Android. Some people will never change their positions, and some in the middle might try one or the other. If you are in IT, as I was, you may appreciate the EV technology, as I do. Through research and experience I...
Thanks a ton, alpha! I just read the whole document, and it was good to get an idea of how things are supposed to be done.
It does seem that perhaps after updating the software, tech are not performing the integrity check - which of course is the whole purpose of the recall: to identify...
Installed a couple interior items from Azuto Japan featured on dirt road cred.
First are rubber cupholder coasters that should have been factory
Next is the rear window "trench" that fills the gap between glass and hardtop so water doesn't drip down onto you when the glass is open.
The spot-welded brackets are there only to back a carpet trim piece between the cargo floor and the seat back. They're not functional or safety related, and could easily be re-attached with screws. Considering all the other modifications we do to our Jeeps, drilling a couple spot welds is pretty...
each shoulder belt is an assembly. They're removed with a large torx bolt at each end and the high loop in the middle. You need to remove the plastic side panels in the cargo area to get the retractor end out.
On my old '21 uconnect, after a dealer service where they disconnected the battery, I noticed my color/theme settings were different, and that the apps were missing. I freaked out, but read this forum and found that this often happens after power reset. I calmed down, drove home, and the next...
Oh wow, I feel dumb 'cause I never thought of this - I like how that Pole uses a Gopro mount - what a cool idea, could have a video driving your Jeep like a video game. And something like a Milwaukee light with all-around light heads would be great!
I've got good mounting options on my tire...
