I didn’t like how much the bottom of the front fenders flopped in the wind at highway speeds…. So I modified and reused the honeycomb brace that was there before the split……they’re rock solid now.. I have 2 small button head bolts in the fender but there’s a button head at the front of the fender with the AAL light kit……so it kinda balances it out…..

I really like the way oem fenders look and wanted to keep the same running light look. I think it’s the JLs signature….I like the chopped thinner light look even better….

Jeep shop near me does fender splits. Retain OE factory painted fender, removes all the plastic underneath, swaps in aftermarket LEDs and aftermarket wheel well liners. Looks great and adds 1.5" or so of room.
What did they charge you for the chop ? with quake light kit and arctic inner liners I've been quoted $ 2000 I wish Ii could do the labor my self. what did you pay ?

Hi Jeff, here’s a better picture with the two bolts circled……I originally had it glued with JB weld, but that only lasted about a year….. I have it bolted now with two button head bolts that match the one in the AAL light bracket……been rock solid ever since….

Love the gutted fender look, any updates on the flashing dash light problems? Is Quake front light/bracket plastic or metal like AAV and MetalCloaks?

Girl think it's worth doing the chop kit if you have the black fenders? My Jeep is wide and I know if I had the pain offenders it would look so much better. Any color that are painted the fenders look so much better but what y'all think about black fenders does it still look good is it worth the money to do it I can't do it myself I'm not I know they say it's easy but I just can't do it parts of labor is going to cost me $2,000 I was going to put the 2000 toward new fenders but metal cloak and road armor and fabtech all are about 4,000 installed with inner fenders. 2000 to the chop kit with the interfenders I just don't know I know I can't do it myself I mean it's about a thousand later I guess because you figured the inner fenders are going to cost you about $1,000 unless you get real cheap ones I'll be Amazon I'm not going with the metal ones a real cheap looking ones that say 1941 I don't want those. I mean you got some You can buy a complete set front and rear for like 199 I mean that's I'm sorry I've seen them in person did they rust they just Don't look good to me so if I buy the ones to match whatever aftermarket fenders I go with it it'll work looking about 4,000 and they said lower fabtech metal cloak road armor they they come straight out so they don't go up you have less clearance and it looks like you almost lowered the Jeep I seen people do it do y'all think it's worth doing the 2000 to do the chopped yet or would you put that toward new fenders at 4000?

Mopar Steel High-Tops are about $2K in black powder coat and e-coat (whatever that is) The liners aren’t metal but are fairly HD and everything is bolt on. They claim they “provide enough clearance for 37” tires”.

The downside is there are presently no slimline lights available so the stock lights are moved to a supplied attaching plastic piece

The Rubi slimlines are too long and more curved.

Thanks was kinda hard to tell from pics.

Anyone do fender gut and use the stock LED turn signals? They're already there, they work, paid for and definitely zero weird warning lights on the dash from them LOL.

The partial gut with keeping the outer wrap over edge piece is interesting but seems like it would get in the way? Adds some rigidity for freeway flappiness resistance though.

Sorry, I can’t answer that, the edge piece can be cut to keep the rest with slimlines though. Check out slimline install videos to perhaps answer your question.
Edit- if you want to keep the stock lights do consider the High-Top Steel Fenders-Mopar (82216497AA) they come black so no paint needed if you want black. ~$2100 MSRP but varies, do watch shipping charges, I found one supplier at $1500 but $500+ shipping. It was cheaper using my Jeep card with 7% dealer purchase cash back, (plus a $50 dealer coupon). They delivered to the painter, no return hassle if painter’s inspection rejected them. If you don’t have a Jeep Card they also gave another $200 cash back on the first purchase at the time.

Roky I have a quick question. On that one screw on the bottom holding the bracket to the Jeep how long was it and did it go into the medal of the Jeep at all ? And I see that you bought I think you did or someone else had it the American venture inner fenders. Are they easy to pop out like they say like if I have to get to my small battery auxiliary battery is easier to pull that inner fender to get to the battery isn't it just pretty easy I don't have to disassemble it to get to it stop stop crying stop

Did y'all get the I guess is the bolt kit little pieces from American venture ? It's where you don't have white clips showing up in the fenders especially in the front. They're like little black I don't know but you can call him pieces but they going to replace the where the white clips are sometimes you'll see why it up in the fender little pieces where someone did to chop kit. American venture sells it

They call it retention hardware. I have them for mine and I believe @Terrymo has them also. I was sort of forced into it because my previous aftermarket fenders used nutcerts I couldn't really remove. Taking off the fenders is a bit of a project now but I do like the look of the AAL clips.
