Anyone come up with a way to use a split fender (think Quake or AAL) and still have the XR extention short of some self tapping screws?

Do the holes in the fender line up with the holes in XR extensions? I've not seen them up close, but my assumption from pictures is that they attach using the plastic rivets that hold the two fender halves together.

Cool, well @Dyolfknip74, personally I'd probably just pick up a big ol' box of Chinesium Christmas tree clips of various sizes on Amazon and find one that works. Easily replaceable and cheap.

Plastic replacement rivets used, one
extra hole required for install on non XR.

Wasted time and money, fenders soon replaced.

When you split the fenders you lose all those holes for the fender liner/extension so that wont work. Will have to make something to be able to double sided tape them on probably.

@yokramer knows…you just end up with the outer (upper) shell of the fender with no holes remaining. You can add the lights without entirely gutting the fenders and keep the XR extension with some slight trimming at the front. But there’s no real clearance advantage this way. That’s how I started out.

Not a great pic but you get the idea. Once you separate the OEM inner fender liner from the outer fender you’re going to have to get creative. 3m VHB like @yokramer suggests.

Ahh, OK, I thought they were on the edge of the upper part. Well then, either 3M VHB or drill some holes and use clips. Either way not very hard.
