Installed the Motor City Aftermarket mirrors. They're pretty sturdy and high quality. After peeling off their sticker, it looks like the mirror piece is made by rugged ridge :P

I didn't notice any shaking/vibrating, but I was driving around town and didn't get it at very high speeds.

Unfortunately had to put the doors back on due to the tstorms that rolled through this morning. I'll keep an eye on them next time I go doorless to see if they shake/vibrate.

I’m on my 3rd go round...

1st: I bought some Harley mirrors that someone recommended on here, but the bolts weren’t long enough and didn’t make it through the door hinge in order to get a nut on it.

2nd: I bought the 2 post square mirrors. They shake like shit, but that’s not the part that’s bothered me... they kept folding in. I would tighten them as hard I could, but eventually they would still fold in. Plus, a lot of adjustment was needed.

3rd: thanks to a post on here, I bought Ram ball mounts to try out. I put a male mount into the hood/fender cover (don’t know the technical name) and a female mount on the back of the square mirror from attempt #2. Now I’m just waiting on my 6” Ram ball arms to arrive and see how it goes.

Damn that’s too bad. Harley mirrors work fine on my Jk and JL. It’s close but totally secure. Zero vibration or shake.

Interesting. I still have my “first try” mirrors too. Can you please tell me about the female RAM ball mounts that attach to the back of your mirrors? What parts did you need and how’d you know they would fit the mirror?

I'm thinking about trying Harley mirrors because I have a reward on my HD visa that should just about cover them. But I plan to go to the dealer and hold them up to the Jeep to be sure before buying. I think they may have different stem sizes so that could be why it worked for some but not all, I'll update once I get around to it.

Worked like a charm! I love the new setup. Hardly any vibration at all! I love this solution. I think the Adventure mirrors are a cool shape too.

Finally. Weather that cooperated today in Iowa. 75 and sun. Got Wruby half-naked. Wife doesn’t like it when I take the back doors off with the kids riding. So I sneak it in sometimes... lol

Just ordered a set of these for $54 on their site. I don't even have my Jeep yet haha (arriving in a week or so hopefully)). I will get the rest of the components at a local shop since it's cheaper than online for me.

Keep on mind you need to order the ram ball seperately (the included one does not work if you ordered the set). You also need the ram ball arm so there is another $50+ in parts needed. This is all assuming you are putting mirrors on both sides

You need two of these Ram Ball (x2) $10 ea

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005J43I56/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You also need the Ram Arm (X2) $13 Ea

https://www.amazon.com/Mount-Double...=B000UGZTQO&psc=1&refRID=83CT1NMXFNFE8FX3RWFV

you will also need 2 shorter 8mm x 125 bolts allen (about 2.5" if I remember)

I just ordered the Mirrors from the double take mirror site. I plan to buy the Ram Arms and Ram Balls locally as there is a bike shop that carries them for a good price, since I'm in Canada, shipping is more expensive ordering online.
So none of the 3 bolts that are included with the ball will work? They are all too long?

Correct they are all too long, that is an easy fix though

The short one is close, but it contacts the body. I had washers laying around my house that fit in the recess of the cowl and that worked for me. But getting proper length bolts is best. Im not certain on the exact length, im going to measure later today. The mirror company also wants to know bolt length they are trying to set up a package deal so you can order it all off them if the purchaser wanted.

1-3/4” would be a good length 2” length at most

You are correct on those parts. I did find the arms cheaper elsewhere if I recall. Also, you are listing the metal arm, there is also the composite option (cheaper).

As for the bolt size, I don't remember... in the prior page, I think I posted a pic of the one I got from Home Depot. I measure that thing 10x and the one I got was a perfect fit... no contact on the JL body, but enough to tighten snug.
