It is guys like you that think outside the box and shares your findings is what makes this forum great. I assume many here are sick and tired of Jeep aftermarket parts manufactures and retailed sucking the blood out of use for anything that is made for a Wrangler and then charging twice as much as it is actual;y worth just because it is for a Wrangler (much like the boating industry). To find common items that are better made without the JEEP PREMIUM PRICE and function better or as good as the premium jeep specific products really makes my day, Thanks again for sharing...

Again for those looking for door-less mirrors these should be seriously considered, while the CMM is great product it is grossly over priced, I simply cannot support company's like CMM. Then the window hinge and door hinge mount mirrors are a hassle to put on -take off and adjust plus they take up valuable room when not in use (assuming you keep them in the Wrangler.

The Double Take Ram Ball Mirror solution should seriously be considered by those looking for a solution for mirrors.
Thanks man. Yeah I agree some stuff is just ridiculous.

I mostly agree with what you’ve written, except that CMM is grossly overpriced. Yes, the Wrangler (and boating) aftermarket can be shady, but sometimes you get what you pay for...

I will take doors off dozens of times a year, and plan to have my Wrangler for a looong time. I need mirrors that are simple (fast on/off/adjust), reliable (don’t vibrate or move), and that will last (good build quality). I paid $240 and, after buying and returning the Rugged Ridge and also seeing the Lange Coyotes in person, I have zero regrets. The build quality is better than OEM; they’re sweet! I paid a premium price for a premium product that will serve me for years. Hell, I’ve spent more on dinner for my family (on vacation), and that got enjoyed once and pooped out the next day!

Anyway, it’s great to see that options are expanding. The Ram Ball looks like a good offering, and one I may have considered if I’d known about them.

Cheap mirrors from Amazon showed up today. Pain in the ass to adjust correctly, and they shake a little driving down the road.
They do the job, but I really think the perfect solution would be to find a way to keep the rear camera on. Blind spots are actually less with the rear view camera than the mirrors. The only time I find the mirrors better are when backing into a tight spot since I can see exactly where my tires are.

I installed these last week $120, these are compact look good, quick tool-less on and off, and extremely durable. I had the Lange mirrors and sent them back they are J-U-N-K. Personally I am not paying $270 for CMM mirrors when these are just as good for 40% the cost of CMM mirrors. The door hing mirrors are to utilitarian for me they are also very large and hard to store in the Wrangler (not very attractive either. These motorcycle mirrors are compact and fit easily in the console or glove box.

Also I checked the Mirror Laws here in Washington State and the law only requires a external driver side mirror and your windshield rear view mirror qualifies as your second mirror so no external passenger side mirror required. I would assume some other states are the same.
Awesome man glad to hear it! Love mine as well! Reach out to double take if you want and let them know how you like them! I dont get any kickbacks or anything free from them, I just thought it was a cool idea and figured it might help them expand.
Thanks to both of you. I just ordered these tonight. I ordered the Enduro mirrors, component only, x2, via the Double Take site. Then I ordered x2 Ram ball, and x2 3” Ram arms from Amazon. My total was around less than $100. Why did you pay $120?

Anyways... thanks again for the idea. I look forward to installing these and will post pics. I haven’t removed the doors yet this year and will wait till I have these babies so I can install all in one shot.

EDIT: Moto, I spoke with DoubleTake (they have great customer service btw), and I actually swapped my order to the Adventure mirrors. Why? Because I saw your comment on youtube about having some vibration. I agree, the longer base of the mirror probably contributes. I am still planning on using the 3" Long RAM mount, and not the extra long one (it would defeat the purpose). The larger mirror should also aid with visibility.

The part that puzzles me - if you're seeing some vibration on the JL, wouldn't it be WORSE on a motorcycle? Since you have both, what do you notice on your motorcycle?

The motorcycle engine vibrates like crazy and theres no dampening between it and the handlebars. Stock ones vibrated the same amount these do on the bike. I plasti dipped the ram ball on the mirror side and that helped on my bike. And helps on the jeep. The vibration i got out of them off the jeep wasnt not enough to inhibit my visibility at all like the other mirrors ive tried. I was just disclosing that it will vibrate a little. Im curious to know how the adventure ones do.

Thanks man... ok, thanks for clarification. When you said "vibrated a bit" from your post, I was worried it was a lot. But still, at least I'll get to try the Adventure version for variety. Hopefully with the spherical mount on both the mirror base and the JL cowl, I'm able to find an ideal position given the 1.5" shorter mirror base. I'll post updates.

My DoubleTake mirrors don’t arrive till Monday, but I got the RAM ball and arm installed already. Went to Home Depot to get shorter M8 bolts and washers.

Then I decided the exposed chrome on the RAM ball stem needed to be black so I dipped it. Much better.

Installed my DoubleTake mirrors... finally. Been itching to go doorless this season. It just won’t stop raining so I can’t test it out yet :(

I love the simplicity of this setup.

Thanks man. Hopefully can test it out after work today, as I drop my kids off at their sporting events.

The passenger side ram arm might be a tad short, as you notice the different angle it needs to be in so I can see it. It works like that, but I’d like a little more adjustability. I’ll rock it this way first and see.

Remember to use locktite on the bolts to keep the bolt from coming loose from wind pressure

Worked like a charm! I love the new setup. Hardly any vibration at all! I love this solution. I think the Adventure mirrors are a cool shape too.

Finally. Weather that cooperated today in Iowa. 75 and sun. Got Wruby half-naked. Wife doesn’t like it when I take the back doors off with the kids riding. So I sneak it in sometimes... lol
