Every generation of Wrangler on line forum complains the wave is dying. I remember the CJ forum back in the day when the YJ came out and everyone switched to the YJ and the YJ forum everyone was complaining the YJ killed the Jeep wave. Especially when Wrangler went mainstream in Jurassic Park.

I either wave, head nod, or give them a thumbs up. It gets old here in Colorado the Jeep capital of the USA lol

I don't wave, and I don't do the fake smile when I see a stranger.
But I do give people the Peace Sign

Where I live, there are more jeeps than anything else, and we all wave. However, went down to laguna beach last week and there were more jeeps than in my small town and literally NOBODY waved!!! I got the blank WTF are you waving at look. Bizarre and disappointing!!!!

I just got back into a wrangler after about a 12 year break, and in the past 2 weeks I've probably waved at 40-50 jeeps and had maybe 4 wave back. When I had my TJ literally everyone waved. Is that not a thing anymore? None of the people with a dash full of ducks has waved, I just get this weird vacant eyed stare like "Why are you waving at me?"

I wave to the Wranglers and Gladiators, but out of the two Jeep dealerships in Victoria, BC, Canada only the people who bought from the one dealership got the memo.

Too many Jeeps to wave at these days. It was a more rare (unique) to see a Jeep "back in the day" (when I used to walk in the snow to school and back home uphill both ways) and I would wave. Sorry, not waving now - too many. Although, there is a possible exception to this. If I am driving my 99' TJ and I see and another TJ (or an older model Jeep waves at me), I may wave.
The fact that you eye up a Jeep and decide whether to wave or not is hilarious.

I'm in the same boat. I just came off a 12-year Wrangler hiatus as well. I live in LA and it's always been hit or miss on waves. Even back then I pretty much only did it when we were the only two cars on a nearly empty road. The motorcycle wave is the same here. There's just too many cars and too much traffic to do it all the time. I suspect it's gotten a bit worse for the Jeeps as there has been a flood of new Wrangler folks. Also, the wave in my mind used to mean "I see you also driving around your uncomfortable and impractical toy of a vehicle." I imagine Wrangler "luxury" has watered that aspect of fraternity.
