Doesn't anyone wave anymore?

I just got back into a wrangler after about a 12 year break, and in the past 2 weeks I've probably waved at 40-50 jeeps and had maybe 4 wave back. When I had my TJ literally everyone waved. Is that not a thing anymore? None of the people with a dash full of ducks has waved, I just get this weird vacant eyed stare like "Why are you waving at me?"

I try my best to wave unless you have an angry grille... I don't want to provoke an angry Jeep into attacking me.

Oh also those that have 5% tint all the way around including the windshield... like I hope you don't expect me to wave at a metal box.

Yeah i figured that would be a long shot at best. There've been several people in dirty modded JK's that just stare. Its just weird.

I don't, I come from a motorcycle background and over 750,000 miles of motorcycle driving and never waved unless it was in a rainstorm or snowstorm then I would wave but on a nice day not a chance.....imagine the horror if you will of waving at a jeep only later to see it parked and seeing that it had a save the whales or stop fracking or some such bumper sticker......

That it's almost a Jeep wave (more of a scout salute), but it's in a Mazda. And in a country that drives on the wrong side of the road.

People in Miatas wave at each other (top-down only), but not like that. I'm thinking the two-finger salute implies something that I'm out of the loop on.
