Does anyone know the different weights of the after market differentials ie, Fusion, dynatrac. Primarily the 60’s. Is there a chart available? I’ve searched and most info is not conclusive

The differentials themselves? Or do you mean axle assemblies, flange to flange? Minus brakes or with brakes?

Yes completely set up I would think. I believe that as light as you can go but not affect quality and strength. I looked on Fusion site but no weights given. I’m not sure. But when you change the rear axle up to a 60 you might have to change brakes etc. thanks for your response.

I just put a Fusion semi float 60 in my Jeep. I picked it up out of the crate and set it on a floor jack and installed pretty much by myself. I did have a bud stop by and he helped me finish the install. it uses the factory Rubicon brakes.

I would not be surprised if the Fusion axle is 40 to 60 pounds heavier than the Dana 44. Even though it is heavier, I did not notice a drop in milage.

Ted,
What swayed you to the Fusion over Currie or Dynatrac?

Ted,

A couple things.
A. I like to support the local economy when I can and they are based out of Michigan.
B. The cost.
C. They provide a lifetime warranty.
D. When I called them, I actually could talk to them.
E. Customer support, if I called them and left a message, they called me back.
F. Price. They were a couple thousand less than the other suppliers.

At the end of the day, I do not think it is rocket science to built an axle. They all are pretty close to the same thing. I wanted a semi float 60 as I did not want to buy new wheels for my Jeep. Even though it is a semi float, it does not have a tappered axle bearing on the outside. It came with a 40 spline chromoly axle shaft.

DynaTrac uses a smaller 35 spline axle.

The Fusion was a direct bolt up and used the stock Jeep Rubicon brakes system. So I did not have to buy the adaptor for the parking brake or have any hassles that my bud that both the Dynatrc rear axle getting the Jeep to read the speed sensors correctly and not thow codes.

Everyone in our local club that has bought the Fusion axles have had good luck with them and there are many that wheel all over like I do.

Full Float Fusion 60's are hundreds of pounds heavier.

I ordered UD 60’s and their shipping weight was 700lbs for the front axle and 600 lbs for the rear for a total of 1300 lbs. Trying to move them makes me think they are accurate.
