I never suggested you don't have a lot of facts...Not selling anything. Make your own choices, but nothing I said was not factual.
Stumbling around the internet in the wee hours. Browsed some papers on axles. Found one that studied the churning losses and thermal effects. As you might have guessed, churning losses/temperature are affected by viscosity and fill level. What surprised me was that churning losses were comparable to the frictional losses in the study.I am betting that Dana would say two things:
1. FCA - stop reducing the oil capacity in our axles.
2. FCA - stop telling Jeep owners to deviate from the 75W-140 that we recommend.
Yes; the limited slip additive will have zero impact on the lockers. At this stage, you would be hard pressed to easily find a synthetic gear oil that does not have the additive in it.This has been an interesting read. The Valvoline in pouches looks good but question, can you put the version with the limited slip additive in Rubicons? Or do you have to explicitly get gear oil without for Rubicons with lockers?
Well, this thread reminded me I needed to go to Amazon and order another Valvoline Flexfill SAE 75W-140 Full Synthetic Gear Oil 1 QT, Case of 4 for the next diff fluid change.

Either one.I'm unable to find the Valvoline pouches here in Norway.
Would Lucas oil or MSOIL SEVERE GEAR be good alternatives?
Thanks!
LiqiMoly, mobil, Shell, Castrol should be available iin Norway. The specifications call for GL-5 gear oil.I'm unable to find the Valvoline pouches here in Norway.

Do you happen to remember about how much oil you used in total? I’m going to have the gears changed out and replace the stock covers with the Dana AdvanTek covers. They look like they might be a bit bigger in internal volume though I don’t know until the stock covers are removed. Did you get the grey, blue or primed version? I got the primed. Going to paint them black. Also, did you reuse the stock gaskets?Just installed Dana Spicer AdvanTek front and rear diff covers on my 2025 JLURX. Filled with Valvoline 75W-140 front and rear per Dana Spicers recommended specification.
I bought 4 of the 1 quart flex packs but only ended up using 3 total to get both the front and rear refilled. I doubt the covers change the internal volume based off my observations.Do you happen to remember about how much oil you used in total?
