I’d say at this point, maybe lemon law or dealer buy back option should be seriously considered. id be pissed about the windows being down and covered with plastic and tape, but that’s just me.

Yeah, doesn't make me warm & fuzzy. Especially with the storms this weekend.

To replace this Jeep with a new one would cost me an extra $15-$20k at this point just in taxes, fees, updated pricing, reduced discounts, current finance rates, etc.. On top of that is lift, wheels, compressor & winch with associated wiring, rock rails, spare tire rack, GMRS, installation... And the wait between order & delivery.

Feel sick, stuck, and over it at this point. And like I got and built a lemon. Looks sweet though. And is great to wheel and drive when it's working.

I think with lemon law they’d have to reimburse you for a new one like yours? Regardless of any price increases. Plus, they should let you keep your upgrades.

Not how it works. I went through it 18 months ago & decided to keep the Jeep. And now here I am again...

My 21 Rubicon diesel has been at the dealer for 2 weeks off and on. Now it's down to only one code, P04DA EGR Flow to High. So far it's had 3 new injectors on the passenger side and a new Particulate sensor. I have to say the dealer has been really responsive and positive. Great to work with.
GDE tune and disable the EGR. you don't have to full delete. The tune a nd EGR disable will prolong that engine quite a bit and take away all of your EGR issues.

I guess another non-update. 46 days in the shop. Jeep has been sitting outside for weeks in the condition above.

Stopped by last Monday and asked the service writer about it. He wasn't very interested in my concerns, but I did walk him out and pointed them out. He took photos and said he'd look into it.

Said the hold up is one part; he said EGR tube. Says the regional Jeep rep has been looking but can't get one. I asked for part # to give to my Jeep Cares case manager. Case manager expedited part and it was delivered Friday. Jeep still sits.

They did shove plastic bags in and around some of the exposed engine, turbo, & injector parts. Otherwise no change. Doors unlocked, front windows down with plastic taped over them.

Ugh.

I would demand that they put the windows up, or else pay for moisture damage which may occur.

Can't put the windows up with no battery or electrical systems in the Jeep. Haven't locked it, either. Another blizzard coming in tonight though. Yay.

Stopped by the dealer first thing this morning. Was told they have parts but neither my service writer or tech were in yet, so they couldn't tell me anything. Jeep Cares case manager called and they told him they're now "trying to get things in order to complete the repair." Right.

Finally got my first update call from the dealer an hour ago (in 7 weeks!!!). Says tech is finishing a large project today and tomorrow and hopefully get started on my Jeep later this week, hopefully finished by this weekend. I asked about the paint damage on my fender and they adjusted that to "hopefully Monday."

Some photos of the plastic bags they shoved in the engine bay last week after I expressed my concern about the turbo, exhaust, injectors, etc. all sitting exposed. This morning they were blowing around under the Jeep. Not sure what good they were even doing after a month of everything left open.

What an absolute mess!

Keep us posted!!
Glad you are taking pics along the way for your own records, always good to document everything Incase any issues arise from this dealership service shop not properly addressing having your jeep exposed to weather etc without taking the proper steps to prevent future possible issues! Best of luck, hope you get her back soon and all is great!!

Day 53 of the saga. I guess time for another update/non-update?

Hadn't heard anything since Tuesday morning so I stopped in on Saturday afternoon. Jeep was in the side lot, but had moved over a few stalls. Windows still taped over, new pool of coolant under and drips on control arms. Grille propped forward and now passenger headlight removed.

Under the hood was still the same mess of exposed connectors, intake, exhaust, injectors, and fuel rail.

Went inside to ask about it. Service admin: "Oh, they didn't call you? They got the wrong EGR cooler." As both the service advisor and tech were gone there was nothing more she could tell me or any timeline estimate.

I have once again been crushed. Doug Smith you've failed me again. I will not be getting my Jeep back soon. I know some of this is "just" cosmetic, but it went in for warranty repair without this damage and I expect to get it back in the same condition, despite their best efforts.
