I haven't been keeping this thread updated, as I've honestly been burnt out on all of the shit that continues to go wrong, and trying to get it corrected.

So, an update from the last two months.

Jeep went into a different dealer further away on December 16. JeepCares told me they scheduled the appointment for Dec 9, but when I showed up to drop it off, they had no idea and no loaner, and scheduled me for a week later. Service manager was a diesel tech for over 20 years at the first dealer, but got sick of their BS and moved to this position/shop. His son is my service writer. They seem to like Jeeps, and actually know what they're doing. And a friend I trust has had good experiences with them.

They went through the checklist I had of issues from the previous repair/dealer, and were able to take care of all of them except the paint (I get it, the paint was damaged by a different dealer and not really a warranty item). While they were test driving it, the front axle locker warning light came on. They found corrosion around the connection at the axle, so replaced the connector.

They had it for 11 days, and I picked up my Jeep December 26. A few miles into my drive home the rear defrost button stuck down, and prevented any adjustment to the HVAC controls. Took it back, they pried the button out, and ordered a replacement HVAC panel. Panel came in January 4 and they replaced it while I walked around town for a couple hours.

On the drive home, the "Stop/Start Not Ready Battery Charging" error is back on the EVIC (has been intermittent, but mostly in error mode). A few days later, the tailgate strut seized when trying to close it, bent the bracket, then came completely out. Next available service appointment was January 23, so back it went that morning.

The retested the batteries, which came back good. Replaced the tailgate strut bar and internal mechanism. I picked up the Jeep on January 26. Made it half way home before the "Stop/Start Not Ready" message came back.

Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2023 (last weekend) I was on my way home from an event with family, and a few miles into the drive, Jeep chimed, cancelled Adaptive Cruise, and dash lit up like a Christmas tree. "ACC Unavailable Service Required," "FWC Unavailable Service Required," "Service Electronic Stability Control," and "Cruise Control Unavailable Service Required" all displayed in EVIC. Blind spot monitors not working, traction control not working, etc.

It has been parked in the garage since then, but I started it later that evening, along with the following day, hoping the errors would reset themselves. No luck.

January 10 I took the Jeep to a reputable body shop for a repair estimate for the paint damage caused by Doug Smith dealership while in their possession. $965 in damage.

Jeep is still broken. 138 days since it went into the first shop. I can't trust it to drive more than a few miles from home. My wife refuses to drive it because she doesn't want to get stranded by it, and I don't blame her.

I've submitted Repair Orders to @JeepCares at 3 different email addresses they requested on January 18, 20, 24, and 28, but they keep saying they haven't received any of the attachments. On January 24 I sent the attachments one email at a time, but apparently they still don't have them. The three reps that have reached out to me over the last 45 days don't seem to be communicating with each other, and the two that haven't been my primary Jeep Case Manager don't seem to understand that the Jeep is still having issues, and has been going to a different dealer for repairs since mid-December because the first dealer was incompetent, negligent, and damaged my Jeep further.

Definitely get rid of your auxiliary battery!! Easy task start to finish 1 hour. Half your problems will go away I had similar electronic issues. Yes the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Would go into limp mode and stay like that indefinitely until the dealer gave it the Magic Flash and then would apparently, say "everything is fine". With only the one battery to contend with, one can disconnect the battery reconnect the battery and you should be on your way. Half that information came from the service manager the other half, "removing the aux battery" came from fellow Wrangler owners that were sick of the electronic issues associated with the dual battery system. In this will not void your warranty so don't be fooled into believing so. Every service department and most of FCA Associates related to the Wranglers know of this serious problem and wash their hands free of any advice or any help. They simply won't do what the Wrangler folks figured out, get rid of the auxiliary battery!

Have you tried Larry Miller Jeep/Ram in Sandy? They sell and service a lot of diesels Rams and Jeeps. Great deals on leftover 2022's diesels now, I miss my Powerstroke, but not sure I want to keep punching myself in the face with 3.0 Gladiator

I've used them a couple of times with mixed results. Considered them when I switched dealers in December, but Heber is a little closer and buddy has had good luck with them. Plus Provo Canyon is a much prettier/friendlier drive than I-15. Their parts website usually has good prices though.

@GearWhore Sorry to hear about your troubles. The family who bought my JT EcoDiesel went through a saga apparently too. I traded it off after 4-5 weeks of the JT sitting at the dealer with no ETA on repairing the oil leak. The dealership then sold it a week later to another family who drove 3 hours to get it. I have no idea if the dealer fixed the oil leak or not before selling it to them.

A few weeks later those people texted me and asked me questions about the Jeep (KY law requires dealerships selling used vehicles to provide contact information to the buyer so they can ask the previous owner about the vehicle.) I answered all their questions, even met up with them and gave them some parts I had taken off the JT while I had it.

A few weeks after that they had an engine fire. It was a small fire, but a fire nonetheless. They sent me a picture of it. They had been towing a small utility trailer at the time. Smelled smoke and pulled over. Popped the hood and saw flames.

Several months passed and last week I talked with them again. They said after FOUR MONTHS of the dealership having their JT with no ETA on repairs they traded it off. They said the dealer never could figure out the issue and couldn't even get the diesel to start again.

It's really sad that we waited for so long to get a factory diesel powered Jeep and when Jeep finally started making them they used such a problematic platform. A baby Cummins sure would have been sweet.

Anyway, you're not alone. A lot of EcoD owners feel your pain.

This. I wrote letters to Jeep in the 90s asking for a diesel Wrangler. Picked up a diesel WK2 when they briefly reappeared mid-'18. As soon as they announced that drivetrain in the JL I knew I'd get one. When it's worked, I have loved it. Range and mileage are unbeatable, as is the towing for something made to go offroad.

Doug Smith had it for 45 days to fix my first oil leak @ 6k miles and less than 5 months old. Run-around then too. I should've known better and tried a different servicing dealer after that. But they at least had loaners, which many didn't at the time. This time they had it for 69 days, much of it fixing problems they created with the original repair it now appears. Except they didn't, and created more problems.

Not sure if I'd have had the same issues had I started elsewhere, but I'd at least have better communication and a service manager that wasn't a condescending liar.

Today I dropped it off for the 4th time at the second dealer. Still chasing electrical gremlins.
