Did I get the wrong color Blue??

Damn. It's definitely not what I thought it was going to be. You guys are right, there is the ocean blue which is way darker, and this looks to be a more medium blue. What the website kinda depicts and what I expected I guess is more like the Chief Blue. I'm really bummed now. I mean the blue looks okay. But not that excited anymore

It's darker than Chief Blue, and one shouldn't order a color based on a computer-generated image. There are tens of thousand Hydro Blue Wranglers in existance, and Jeep clubs all over the country, it would have been wise to check the color out in person before placing an order.

Compliments on Tuscadero have been off the charts. My Hydro got some nice compliments, but Tuscadero gets them all the time.

I was considering buying a hydro Jeep so I've seen several up close. Hydro changes depending on the lighting condition. In the sunshine it's a bright, fun blue. In the shade it's kind of like the Lowe's blue, but shimmery.

Here's a tip OP. Get a high quality carnauba wax. My bikini pearl JL naturally is turquoise in the sun, and teal in the shade. When waxed it's turquoise in basically all lighting conditions. I strongly suspect a good coat of carnauba wax will keep your hydro blue looking its best. Look up Collinite 845 Insulator Wax.

This cannot be overstated. Hydro (along with all the metallic colours I've seen in IRL) packs a stronger punch in person compared to pics on the internet. Even if hydro isn't as light as chief, its vividness is something to be appreciated.

My brother has had a couple of cars in a similar color to Hydro... I parked my Hydro next to his... Hydro is BRIGHT.

The online configurator is terrible at depicting the colors, especially with Hydro, Sarge, and Snazz.

I would consider Hydro the next time around if it's still available.

Agree with this. Jeep has an enthusiastic and loyal base that puts a high value on color. Look no further than these forum pages where color is a regular topic of friendly but passionate debate. One would think that Jeep would strive to be more accurate representing their colors. Who in marketing/web design looks at the images below and says “yeah, not very close but close enough”.

Part of the brightness is due to the mica flakes that are used in all of the pearlcoat colors. They flash more brilliantly than metal flake. They also contribute to the chameleonic nature of such colors.
