I have the 2.0…. the car I traded in was a VW Tiguan with the 2.0 TSI…. It was very easy to research potential problems and concerns. I’ve searched for years for problems with both the Alfa version and the Jeep version and I couldn’t find any. I also want to stress that I loathe Chrysler and...
Your post made me think of something else... my brother does a lot metal art and has a couple of welders... somebody creative could make their own tube doors with removable covers and uppers... I'm not sure it would save any money, but you could get cool results.
I bought those Bestop twill doors. Last summer I took the front factory doors off around Father's Day and didn't put them back on until I took a road trip to Nashville at the end of August. I carried the twill doors in the back seat and put them on when it rained.
As you can see from my pic...
I've thought about this for awhile... yes, we do have a different definition of luxury. None of those things you listed are luxury *to me*. I see that as offroading... So I think this comes down to a semantical argument. Anyway, cheers...
Wranglers can get pretty expensive... but there's nothing "luxury" about them. Even in an $80k Wrangler, they're not using the same materials as luxury vehicles. My brother had a Grand Cherokee SRT and the materials inside were economy level. He traded it in for an ML 63 AMG and the materials...
I had a CAI on an Accord V6 couple years ago. I didn't notice much of a difference. Below 3k RPMs it was quiet. If you hit the gas when it was over 3k RPMs it had a mean growl, especially if you were under a bridge. I always enjoyed making a little noise when people weren't expecting it. But it...
If you live in the mountains, the turbo might actually be the better option... but totally agree that you should drive both as you will be the one driving it, hopefully for a long time.
My JLU with the 2.0 replaced a VW Tiguan that also had a direct injection, turbo charged, 2.0 L 4 cyl... VW, Audi, and even Porsche use variations of it throughout their most of their lineup... I enjoyed the engine, but it's easy to find articles about very well known problems. I prefer VAG to...
I'm Gen X... both my dad and my grandfather looked at us like we were complete idiots... now my dad's in his 70s and we're (I have 3 brothers) in our 40s and successful-ish... and the stories are now a blast to tell. I've never been shot at, but I did things back then that I wouldn't do now.
Oi vey...
Those rich d-bags are the reason the Wrangler is still sold today.
Off-roaders like you are a niche market. You need the soccer moms to make it profitable for a company. It's like this with EVERYTHING. Be thankful it's still available.
I'm not married, but 39 years or not, even I know this is a bad thing. LET HER HAVE IT. She's always wanted one, this one is hers. I'm sorry, I don't mean to butt into your marriage at all, but this is bad... and you asked :) tread lightly my friend...
Im not sure I understand the second question.
Mine has been fixed and it’s fine. I just brought it up so the OP will get it checked before the trip, it’s a known problem to the dealers.
