My '20 Ram has been through 1/4 tank of DEF in 200 miles. Ouch.
My 2018 cummins 3500 is driven 70 highway and filled will last 8 -10k and holds 9 gallons. I run 80 mph 70% of the highway time.

I'm not sure if it was, I'm just going off what it went through the last 549 miles.
They seem to only put 2-3 gallons in from factory. I’m thinking your DEF mpg will probably pan out to be normal.

I did talk to my dealer about this and he confirmed that the factory is only putting in a few gallons. The dealers used to fill them up as part of the PDI, but FCA decided to stop reimbursing the dealers so they stopped filling up the DEF tanks. As I recall the DEF tanks are just over 5 gallons. So when you pick up your Jeep you may want to check the level.

Thats odd as Mopar DEF tanks on the 3500 are all 5.5 gallons (Fords and Chev about the same) which is also the same 5.5 on my 2019 Ram 35000, yours must be SPECIAL....

Yes mine is. It has a Ram 5500 tank in it. Thanks for asking

Now that I'm getting a few miles on the Ram 1500, the DEF usage is slowing down a little. The tank on mine is 5.8 gallons. Hopefully as everything settles down and the weather warms up a bit more it'll go to normal usage.

I've gone through about an 1/8th of a tank of DEF in 750 miles. But that was after some hard driving when I first got it and two long trail rides. When it's not offroad and when I'm driving like normal, the needle barely moves though.

For future reference, my miles have been about 50 commuting / 50 highway. Commuting is usually idling up the highway cause people don't know how to drive... ;) I have yet to be able to make it to a trail.

Just filled the DEF tank so I'll let everyone know how my numbers look after this tank. When I took delivery of the Jeep it was on almost 3/4 of a tank of DEF fluid. I drove it down to 300 miles left on the DEF tank and filled from there. I put 2.5 gallons of fluid in the tank and that put me right where it was when I got it from the dealer. The tank still took another 2.5 gallons for a total of 5 gallons to fill. I'ill be happy if I get 6-7K per tank of DEF fluid.

After checking again, I've burned through about an eighth of a tank of DEF in about 1100 miles. So at this pace it looks like I'll get around 8500 miles or so per tank. Although that might change especially after its broken in.

Loving my Diesel Rubicon so far but I don’t believe we will get anywhere near the 10k miles per DEF tank that I heard previously. Mine was almost full when purchased and after about 3k miles I’m less than 1/4 of a tank. I prob have more miles on mine than most people but has anyone else noticed their usage of DEF? Not a big deal but just curious if my rate of DEF usage is typical.

I’ve got only 1,259 miles on mine and DEF is half empty! Was full at purchase.

It probably wasn’t full...that gauge has a bad habit of saying it’s full or close to it when it’s not. I hand-filled mine with my sales guy upon delivery to just under a full DEF tank and have about 87% left on the gauge after 1000 miles.
