I agree with the Cooltech antenna set @ $90 (link here), though I recommend pairing that kit with the Uniden Pro 520XL ($43). That's quite a package for $133!

Good luck with your decision.

(Edited model, link showed 520, but text said 510, thanks @99wishes)

I'm pretty sure nobody uses a CB anymore. Something to think about before installing one.
The jeep club I'm in as well as other clubs in my area still use cb's when out on the trail. There aren't enough jeeps carrying GMRS/FRS/HAM yet, at least in my area. I plan on buying buying a GMRS, FRS or HAM handheld soon to use because they are increasing in popularity

I run with various groups and wind up using a mixture of radios. CB at the larger events or FRS with my local club. I've got the Cooltech CB set up along with some cheap Radioddity FRS hand helds and a cheap Baofeng UV-5r 70cm/2m (I do have a ham license).

No body around here runs the rugged radios or race radios.

i dont have one yet, but i like the cooltec one because its all in one setup. one question tho, can you intall the antenna on the spare tire mount vs tailgate. just dont want to the drill into the sheet metal.

The popularity of CB's is definitely down, and some have converted to HAM, though CB's are still widely used. Hell, I use mine just about every day. While there's still quite a bit of CB related discussion on these forums, the main point is the OP has interest and is asking about options for use.

The Cooltech mount is a no drill solution.
You replace the upper (or lower if you'd rather, I guess) bolts on the tailgate hinge with longer bolts, the bracket and some spacers.
