My breakfast chef has a remarkable recipe for coffee that he refuses to share. Anyway I have him brew up a pot every morning at the villa. Then I have one of my pilots use one of my helicopters to air lift it to me on the trail. It’s really special.

i coarsely grind a bunch of beans before i go and use the GSI MiniEspresso either over one of my backpacking stoves or the Coleman.

not really quick, convenient or easy to clean up, but makes one nice strong cup of espresso-like coffee almost anywhere, and works as well bicycle or motorcycle touring as it does on the tailgate table of the dieselJ**p.

@brewski Not arguing, just wondering, how it's easier to clean up. Isn't it the same thing, but the grounds are in the bottom as opposed to in a basket/filter?
yeah similar but the parts are easier to clean. Its a disk, a shaft and a cup. Easy to scope grounds into a bag for trash, parts clean super quick. My experience with percolators has been the parts are harder to clean up and take a lot more water to clean.

Agreed. Harder to clean, lots of water, and also takes up space in my food storage. All about quick clean up. Thanks for the recommendation.

I use single cup pour over filters with the same coffee I use at home. No need to carry any extra equipment or device to make coffee with them, just the same pot you use for cooking to heat the water.

Exactly why I made this post. Never heard of this. Simple and highly recommended. Done with burnt camp coffee. Thanks for the recommendation.
It’s a winner with third wave coffee guys as well. Not just convenient, packable, cheap, durable, and easy, it’s a great cup of coffee too.

I go to scooters (or your favorite kind) and get a bag of beans and have it coarse ground. At camp I use a French press to make a 32oz pot of coffee....very delicious.

Wow—definitely don’t feel so high maintenance while camping seeing all the stuff you pull out to make some coffee. Haha. (I’m not a coffee person). But according to some people I know they swear by a French press and it does EVERYWHERE with them.

After I made my first billion, I decided it was time to upgrade, so I bought a mountain in Guatemala, which is covered in coffee plants. As a hobby, I harvest, then roast the beans, then grind and make a cup to enjoy.
I feel it keeps me *grounded*.

Do you ever sell your beans? Still trying to figure out where my breakfast chef gets his. I think my lunch chef knows but hes not talking. I should probably hit up my pastry chef. I bet she knows.

I do pour over at home and it has me spoiled. Was thinking I need a durable version to leave in the trailer. I'll grind enough at home to get me a bit more than I think I need, just in case.

I have a JetBoil Java that I use for backpacking. It boils 2 cups in less than a minute. I like having this small unit that I can get to and pack away easy if I don’t already have the full camp kitchen out.
When camping with the Jeep I bring a pour-over stand and it makes clean up easier than using the french press parts that come with the JetBoil.
