It goes into the body shop the first week of November, covered under warranty.
My Jeep is having the same issue. How did your repair go?

Never made it to the body shop, there were issues with them doing my other half’s paint work. Went a different direction.

Update for me: Dropped it off Monday morning as planned, was told "it'll be done by Friday".

Surprise.....that was a lie, won't be done until Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I'm a pretty nice guy, until your ineptness starts to negatively impact me and you can't keep your word.

Next week I leave for a 12 hour (each way) road trip to see family on Thursday, so there's zero extra room beyond that and you'll see me raise hell to get my sh*t back asap if they attempt to postpone this again. No joke, don't f*ck with my time, my car, or my plans. The dealership and myself made this arrangement (2-3 weeks ago) like adults, I held up my end of the bargain, I expect the same from them. I couldn't BS at my job like that, nor would I want to.

I feel like it basically just sat there all week..........(it's only 2 doors and 4 hinges!!! I've literally had half a damn car painted in less time and I still had an appointment! No joke. Had it done for a vehicle this past summer......So what am I missing with my JL??). Nobody gives a damn, it was pushed off, and now when I called today to make plans to pick it up tomorrow as planned, it's like they suddenly remembered it???.....all I know is they scrambled on the phone like :whatsgoingon:, realizing that it wasn't going to get touched yet until Monday and "done" by Wednesday. They left that bad news on my voicemail, couldn't tell me that when I first called.

If that's true then wtf did we make an appointment for?? Appointments have a real purpose, they are not helpful suggestions, or guidelines, they have a specific time set aside for a specific purpose. It's all warranty work to cover a defect in Jeeps painting process, so you'd think they'd care when it's not the customers fault but the brands.........guess not.

Don't even get me started on the rental BS, I'm just thankful I have a spare vehicle to use otherwise I'd be way more pissed off. More than unhelpful when it comes to that topic.

Please let the damn doors color match (without trash in the clear coat) so I don't have to bring it back after all this drama, because I will, I just hope I don't have to.

oh man sorry to hear. I chickened out and rescheduled mine just cuz i feared what you are going through plus the matching paint. I will probably wait until after the holidays now. My dealership did actually offer me a rental car. Hopefully you get it back and it matches perfectly!

It's alright man, I reached out to the service manager about all of this, he called back this morning, well see how things shake out. Not gonna hold my breath but, he "gave his word" it would be done and back to me in time for my trip. At least he agreed it's ridiculous to have taken this long by the time it's all said and done.

My 18 is doing it too. This is corrosion , we are screwed. I am regretting this purchase . There is no lasting repair. It will be patched enough to get out if whatever warranty coverage is left and then we're on our own. Please tell me I'm wrong.

I mean, it's not quite as dramatic as that, but it's pretty f-ed up for being so (new) and how much we all paid for these things. As far as repair, I'd figure there is a correct repair, but STILL that just depends on the quality of the body shop at which it's at. Which is why I wanted to figure out WHY this occurred so we can fix the mistake and prevent it again. Clearly there was something wrong or missing in this equation to have this happen so soon. My dealership that's handling the repair said that my paint (and repair) will be covered under my "5 Year Unlimited Mileage Corrosion Warranty", so I'm covered if the hood (or whatever else) this happens to in the future, which honestly makes me feel better because by the time this is 5 years old, I'm pretty sure I'll know by then how well the repair held up or if it needed this fixed again by that time. They said "if it's an issue or bubbles from under the paint/clear coat, that's the corrosion warranty" and if it's from the top/outside down, that's not covered which makes sense to me because that would be an outside factor or variable.

So anyways that gave me some comfort not gonna lie, 4 more years from now to not cost me a penny for their f*ck up except maybe an Uber ride home or a rental and some gas, it's pretty much the best I'm gonna get from this situation as we can't change the cards were dealt with.....yet lol. I still love my JL, and I don't regret my purchase, but that doesn't mean some corners weren't cut and they clearly made some sh*t choices to bring us to these situations. Now IF they were declining the repair and not being helpful at all levels, that would be the time to full on regret some things. Thankfully I'm not in that boat, because I have way too much going on in my life (2019 was rough) to even contemplate dealing with that ish...

I am "supposed to" get it back sometime either today (Monday) thru Wednesday, so I've got the reassurances of 3 days left or less. So I'll report back with the initial repair quality once it's back in my hands don't worry lol. :movember: At least they finally gave me a 2019 Hemi Rebel to drive till then.

Got my JL back this morning, *so far* the initial repaint quality is pretty good, a few spots of dust that I have to take it in for the first Saturday of January but that'll be a quick fix I'm told. Otherwise pretty good since the paint matches but being a year old I'm sure in some angles it'll be off a little (shade), nothings perfect these days but it's realistically close as it's going to be without risking it and making it potentially worse. But I do need to adjust the door latch or hinges as it shuts a little differently versus when I dropped it off, hopefully it's an easy fix.

I noticed bubbles on the doors around the hinges on all 4 doors. Took it to the dealership, and the service advisor was hesitant to do anything, until I insisted. She then called the manager of the body shop. When he arrived, he said they were pretty bad, and all 4 doors would need to be stripped, have the corrosion cleaned, and repainted. He told the service advisor to take the photos, and file the claim. This was almost 2 months ago.
Since then, I have called 4 times asking on the status, and each time I was told I would get a call back. Nothing. I called again and spoke with the service manager. She assured me the service advisor would call me that morning, and no call.
I stopped in, and spoke with the service advisor, and asked why she never called me. She gave me the excuse she never got the messages. She said she would look at the status, and call me later that day. No call. I have called since, and still get blown off.
If @JeepCares does not intervene, and help get me answers, I am going to take the next step. I did not pay 55k for a vehicle to rust under the paint in 1 year, living in So CA where there is no snow, or salt and hardly ever rains. This is total BS.
