5 years on exterior panels - Good luck! Tried to submit a claim 5 months ago, and after 30 days of total lip service and no claim submitted, I gave it to my AG. They've had it 5 months with zero action from Stellantis. Multiple registered letters were sent from my AG. Worst customer service I've ever experienced, but @JeepCares (lol). If they simply paint it will likely return. 2020 Black and Tan that had it at 29K miles on 6 panels, most all hinges, tailgate, etc... unfortunately they don't seem to care -- they already profited off of you. I will never buy another FCA/Stellantis vehicle and you shouldn't either.Have the paint bubbling on 5 hinges and 2 doors right now. 2020 JLU with about 63,000 miles. Finally found a dealer with a body shop that would look at it. Body shop just called and said the claim was denied. Warranty is only 3 yrs 36,000 miles and to call the dealership if I had questions.
Am I screwed at this point. I've only read through 10 pages of the 182 page thread so far. Found a TSB on the bubbling paint issue on page 8 or 9 that was dated 2019. Plan to go through the other pages to see if there is a more updated TSB on the issue. Hoping there is one dated 2020 so I could use that as ammunition when talking to the dealership. I'm worried if I show them the 2019 TSB they will say it doesn't apply to mine since it's a 2020.
they are on my 2020They aren't on my 2020. Or, they aren't attracted to a magnet. Have you actually checked yours?
Yep. Dealer told me yesterday to put in my paint bubbling claim just before the 5 year corrosion warranty expired. That will be claim #3 - and the last one for me. This time will be the front lip edge of the hood + bottom edge of a couple door panels. It's not covered by the 3 year 36000 mile warranty. It's covered by the 5 (or 6) year corrosion warranty. Call them back.
I'm kind of surprised by that; most Hawaii rental agencies specifically forbid the use of their vehicles off-road, to the point that most disconnect the transfer case cable.Rented a JK with 285/75-16s KO2 BFGs Load E - and handled off-road like a dream - fully aired up. Ride was surprisingly compliant on washboard and ruts.
Unfortunately you have never been to Lanai then. Google 4x4 rentals and they will supply a map where to go and how to engage 4Hi and 4Lo. 4x4 is a must - as no car would ever make otherwise. Definitely a must do while in Hawaii. Kited and snorkelled. Super fun. Try it.I'm kind of surprised by that; most Hawaii rental agencies specifically forbid the use of their vehicles off-road, to the point that most disconnect the transfer case cable.
The JK we rented seemed more rigid and robust than our JL. Not sure how it was set up - but was a Sport - definitely lifted. Suspension and shocks were perfectly tuned - fully loaded with 5 people. Tires very solid carrying a full load of gear trekking from location to location. Other Jeep was a bit newer - but the brakes were toast. JK had about 33K on it.I though that my four JKs handled just fine, much better than my first JL Rubicon of 2019 vintage. That one was the worst handling vehicle sans the 40s and 50s versions I drove.
