Dropping her off this weekend for a repaint next week. I'll post again with the final results.
Oh wow! Thanks for the heads up, looks like they're on top of it. I'll see if I can set up an appt with them also.

For everyone going through the same issue I am going through, I just wanted to give an update on the legal path. I hired a lawyer the letters went out to the dealer and Jeep. I got a call from the dealer after that the warranty work is now approved and to drop it back off to get fixed. Hopefully Jeep is not making the dealer eat the repairs, but this whole paint warranty process needs to get figured out and not dumped on the customer. Hopefully it gets repaired properly and looks good when I get it back. I will give follow ups on the repairs. This has been a terrible experience for me and the first time I ever had to hire a lawyer. Sucks, but glad it is moving in the right direction now.
Happy this worked out for you OP. For all those experiencing the same issue & your local dealers or Jeep refusing to fix this under warranty, I recommend contacting your state's Attorney General Office and filing a complaint. They will handle issues such as this without the expense of you having to hire an attorney. I once had an engine issue that was well-known & discussed on forums such as this & kept getting blown off by the dealers & GM. After I filed a complaint with the AG, had a new engine installed under warranty within 2 weeks.

I just yanked mine and had them LineX'd.

Yeah, but is that another bubble in the door paint directly below the door handle, down near the bottom?? That's what mine are doing. I might just line x the entire lower doors.

I had to go the state AG some years ago when an insurance company refused to pay my vehicle damages. They started digging and saw that I didn't have coverage for a few months within 12 months of their new policy and refused me on that basis.

yeah perhaps you're lucky. I have some at the very bottom of both driver and passenger doors.. we'll see if it becomes an issue. This JEEP isn't going anywhere. The drivetrain is strong, exactly where I want it to be and my suspension/steering mods have made it perfect.

I have some at the bottom of the doors as well, and I also feel the same about my Jeep. At the moment it's not worth it for me to be dealing with dealers.

Jeep Wrangler JL Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges Paint Bubbles

Noticed paint bubbles on the bottom of both of my doors. Dealer is going to repaint both doors as mine is still under warranty, but I am of course concerned that it won't look the same and may have other areas where paint bubbles up again.

I am sad to report that I am having the same issues on 3 of my 5 doors and up by my windshield. I took it into my local dealership a little over two weeks ago and they denied my claim based on the Basic warranty of 3 years/36,000 miles and i have 48K on mine. They told me to call Jeep and when I called them they told me to call the Warranty Administrator at my dealership. Full run around....

Why is this not falling under my corrosion warranty? It is not a paint issue it is a metal prep issue which cosmetically is altering the paint. Id love some direction on where to go from here. Should I call them and explain why it's a corrosion issue? (the service guy who took a look at it also said this is not the first they've seen and had one on the lot they were trying to sell with the same issues) I have also seen people having luck submitting claims with the attorney general. I don't want to have to go that route but also do not want to be on the hook for repainting my car for something that is an issue from the manufacturer.

HELP - Sincerely a young first time JEEP owner who has never owned a car new enough to still be under warranty before :headbang:

I went to the dealership last friday about bubbles on hinges, bottom of doors and hood. They took pictures, sent me to the bodyshop for an estimate and they told me they would get back to me within 2-3 weeks.
The bodyshop manager said she was sure jeep would pay to have my jeep fixed, but she said the bubbles will keep coming back in other places. My jeep was the 5th one she had seen with the same issue.

What the solution here? trade it in? I love my jeep but when the warranty runs out, there's no way I want to pay to have rust removed.

So i have paint bubbling on my hinges. 2020 JLU. I went to my local dealership (will totally share the name of the dealership and body shop managers name if i wont get in trouble on here.)....the body shop told me that there was no way they were going to do the warranty work because i did not buy the vehicle from them. They said they reserved the right to refuse to do warranty work. I have bought vehicles from them before but that didnt seem to matter to them. I have 27 months of warranty left on that and the body shop manager said they were booked out for a couple of months...i even said that was fine...i could wait a year but he said under no circumstances would they honor the warranty since it was not bought from that dealership. Anyone else have problems with dealerships being this way? They definitely wont be getting any more of my business. Apologize if this has already been covered on this thread but it is quite a long thread! Any advice? I also thought JeepCares monitored this forum? It just makes me sick how i am being treated...and i was polite at the dealership. Went there for an oil change and a emissions recall.

A couple of weeks ago I found this same issue below my rear door hinge. This was well after I had made the trade deal, and mine still has six months of factory warranty left. Then I stumbled upon this thread, and realized it was not just mine, not an anomaly, but a widespread issue. Just checked again and I have more starting in an area next to an upper hinge, different door.

I suggest everyone with issues do what has been mentioned, and pursue some type of litigation or at least get the worthless AG involved. Wondering now if my new 392 will have the same crappy paint job.

Notice in my picture, the area I photographed has very little paint and what appears to be primer showing. This hinge has the bubbling in another spot, but I suspect the other areas may be poor prep or thin paint or both.

Had the same "experience" at my "local dealer" (who had no JLs during pandemic to even buy); I opened a case with Jeep Customer Cares and described what local dealer told me (local dealer told me: it would be covered but need to take it back to dealership where purchased from). Jeep Customer Cares told me that individual dealerships can kinda set their own internal policy on such things.. So..I made the 45 min drive back to the dealership where I purchased it (major dealer), told to go straight to collision center, where service manager took pics and submitted without question (but did ask if I purchased from them), and just booked me for a two week slot to fix (end of August). Asked him if he thought it would be approved and he said absolutely. This will be their eleventh JL in for corrosion this year. Overall, very happy with the treatment from selling dealership. All doors, tailgate and hood will be repainted. They will provide a rental for duration of repair. Unsure if they will pay to have xpel PPF replaced on nose of hood, but betting they will when I doc through my case with Jeep Customer Cares (they were helpful and did seem to care about my experience). Now, I'm crossing my fingers hoping the repair will be the last and that the paint will match (black)...

We absolutely love this jeep (third; CJ and TJ before) and I didn't/don't want to give up. There's really no replacement out there. And really would love to keep it till next gen of wrangler comes out!

There's hope, just keep trying other dealers or the one where you purchased it from.
