Brought my JLU in for this issue, among others. Initially, they looked at it and said it was just overspray, but had them look at the closer and they agreed. They did say it was going to take a while to get anything done via warranty through FCA due to COVID. I'm a little skeptical about that, I also don't know if I want repainted or if I could argue for a new tailgate, any opinions on this?
I have a few spots starting on mine, looking to have them addressed next time I take it in. Hopefully these are warrantied.. the one on the edge of the hood is very annoying.

I have it on 2 doors so far, 2019 with 16k miles. I am planning on waiting until it develops on every hinged panel. My 2010 Nissan is corrosion free...

My 2013 JK had it on the hinges themselves when I bought it in 2015. Those hinges were painted after assembly as well. How Jeep still has not figured this out escapes me.
I took mine to the dealer on Tuesday. They said they're painting about two a week, and there was 15 jeeps ahead of me with the same problem.
I saw this thread yesterday and I checked my '18. Yup paint is starting to bubble.
My dealer in West Palm Beach, FL (Arrigo) hasn't been too keen on replacing anything. I brought it up once, and they said "we'll start with repainting". Of course, as luck would have it, hinges that were painted in July have begun corroding again, along with a few new ones so my JL is currently in the shop (third time for paint) to have those areas repainted. Again. I got JeepCares involved, but that doesn't seem to have changed anything at this point. A fix for corrosion here seems to be a simple refinish & repaint.
I've had similar conversations with my dealer. They have been extremely helpful overall and are trying to accommodate where they can. They have a backlog (mostly '18-'19s Wranglers and GCs), but they are only doing paint repairs. With the extent of bubbling on my doors by the seams and hinges plus my hood I don't feel confident that this will fix the problem long term. I am looking at other options at this point given @JeepCares hasn't even respond on this topic in a while.
My dealer is also Arrigo. They did my Passenger side door about 6 mos ago and the corrosion is beginning to come back. However, I'm waiting to bring it back to the dealer because It looks like it's also now starting on the Drivers door.

Update from my mess: My JL has been at the dealer/body shop for almost 50 days. Still no progress/communication from @JeepCares (an oxymoronic name it turns out) despite giving them all my info. Working with state attorney general's office to determine legal avenues.

Keep us posted on that situation. I have JeepCares involved right now, but the only thing that seems to have changed so far is the number of people "in the loop". I'm hoping JeepCares will ultimately pass along a more permanent solution... a long-term "plan" of sorts. I'd do almost anything right now to trade the minivan rental in my driveway for the Jeep I'm leasing.

Heard. Unfortunately, I have come to understand this the hard way. Butā€”my dealer "does it the way they do it", so when I had repeat corrosion on hinges that had been painted less than 2 months before, I reached out to JeepCares. It moved from the paint shop to service for the steering TSB last week and I'm still waiting for someone to tell me it's ready. To be fair on all pointsā€¦ I have yet to hear what their plan of action will be for future paint corrosion on my vehicle going forward. So although I'm pretty frustrated right now, I'll need to tell the end of the story later. I'm still hoping for a positive outcome.

I just got my Jeep back after sending it in to fix the bubbles. They did a terrible job with painting and to top it off, they somehow broke the rear door handle... Iā€™m torn on whether I should go back to the dealership I had it done at or go to a different one...

That is the shittiest paint job I have seen.... I would recommend going back to the same dealership because they did the work. I wouldn't have even accepted the car.

I plan on bringing it back on Monday. I picked it up this past Tuesday which happened to be cloudy so the color difference wasn't that noticeable. The sun just makes it worse. As for the rear handle, it looked fine at first then when I went to open the door yesterday, it wouldn't open and the handle got stuck.

Yeah, not sure on how the handle is messed up, but having dealt with body work before I always bring a good "real spectrum" light to inspect

I feel the dealership will come up with excuses on why the colors won't match. One I could think of is the sun altering the color over time. Is it possible for the body color to change after being exposed to the sun in 2 years? Just want to be prepared to fight back if they say something like this.

You are correct they will probably try and give you some sort of BS on why it is the way it is, but Paint has UV protective that will allow it to not fadeā€¦ its just a bad color match. At the end of the Day, its warranty work so the dealership doesn't have to pay for it

Holy cow, that paint "match"...

To do it right that whole side should have been blended.

THIS is exactly WHY I haven't had mine fixed yet!!! This is an INCREDIBLY bad job!! I feel for you. Good luck, hopefully the remedy this and paint the entire Jeep.
