dealership repainted the punkn jeeps doors and hinges but this is how the left the bolts and dried up paint. It’s like this on all 4 doors. They redid the bolts once before because it was jacked up too much and they didn’t fix this. So it’s still at the shop. How do you give that back to the customer knowing they will see it? I hope they get it right

I am being told that my hinges bubbling wouldn’t be covered under the 5 year corrosion warranty? But rust on the panels is covered under warranty…

Anyone else have this experience with a dealership and is that correct?

I’d go to a different dealership. Hinges should be covered.

Do you have this anywhere in a PDF document so I can download it? I’m considering buying a 2020 wrangler sport altitude. The car only has 30,000 miles on it and it’s immaculate except for the two hood hinges are bubbling and there’s two blisters like an inch or two from of one of the hinges indicating the hood might start or may be unrelated. I wanted to be able to show this to them to get them to fix it as part of my deal to buy the vehicle .

Personally, based on my experiences……..STAY AWAY! You will have ongoing problems if it is bubbling now.

I kind of figured that, but does that mean if I find a 2020 2019 that has no signs of bubbling I’ll be OK or is it just inevitable?

Dropped off the Jeep yesterday to start the process. Knight CDJR in Claremont. Pictures and body shop estimate will be sent to Jeep on Monday and should have an answer about whether or not it’ll be covered by the end of the week.

Fingers crossed.

Nothing is for certain, however, the odds are not in your favor. Since the fix is available, a 2019 has seen enough depreciation that if you do have it fixed with the new hinges, it probably will not affect resale too much in a couple of years.

This is my first post here, but I've been following this thread for a while. My 2018 JLU has been in the shop for 7 weeks now. My dealership is Gengras Jeep in East Hartford, CT and it is being worked at a 3rd party body shop that was previously owned by the dealership. I've been told that it needs a new drivers-side front door and that it's on backorder, with no estimate available (other than that it could be months). The customer service has been pretty poor overall (long story). @JeepCares - is there any way you can help expedite the door?

My 2019 JLUR was purchased in Portland, Oregon and then moved to Michigan and now Ohio and I had all 4 door hinges repainted early last April and now they are bubbling again. I can't the dealer to call me back or help me out when I show up and I tried another dealer that said that can't help me since I didn't buy from them. This really sucks! I have to try another dealer or I have to drive my Jeep thru a showroom window!

I see you live in Beavercreek OH. your dealing with the most worthless Dealership there is Dave Dennis . Believe me I know I purchased a new JLUR in 2019. Once JB and Boys get your money they don't give a damn. They will never get another penny from me !

Performance Jeep was where I started off with a Steering issue and the paint. They replaced the steering box and it still pulls to the left after alignment and then the paint repair. So I went to Dave Dennis and ya, they suck!. Bunch of dicks!
